Hi all, im new here at this forum, and for those of you who dont know anything about me, have a look at my work in the miniature gallery Smile

Here are 3 orcs that i just began converting:

Wounded Orc - i gave the guy an axe in his backpack, since he ought to have some kind of weapon:

Big 'Un - the Orc Raider with Pig from the direct order only at GWs homepage. Just picked this guy up, and since i already have some models with torches and decided to give him the obligatory axe Wink Loooove the model!

And an old orc bully from the rock lobber! This guy is supposed to substitute the other guy with sword and shield, which can be seen in the mini. gallery Smile

Hope you like them!

Some nice models! The woulded orc looks great (from behind Wink ) and the raider is a perfect choice for Mordheim!

Thank you cianty Smile

Yeah i thought the 'raiding-ness' of the orc would be very fitting Smile
My boss will be standing on a dead cow, and i've though of adding a dead goat to one of the backpacks to the orcs - maybe the boss!

The raider is done - and im pretty happy with the result. Im going to coat him with purity seal to make him more resistant to my pokey fingers.

The pic quality is a bit better, dont you think? :b

Quick AND good is an EXCELLENT combination. These two minis share a common factor;i.e.,I wasn't really impressed with either one as GW presented them, BUT the way you did them has changed my mind...such as it is. I have that peg legged Guy kicking around & NOW I HAVE to paint him. Again VERY WELL DONE! thumbsup

Very Happy glad i made you change your mind Wink
I'd imagine that exactly that model will be perfect for pirate themed orcs Smile

Hi all.. i was looking through some 40K orks and came across this guy! Dont you think he would fit well for mordheim (im thinking about all the loot and stuff on his back is very fluffy):

What you think?
Is the swords and goggles too much? And is he too big (base size?)

Wow, yeah, he looks perfect for Mordheim! Personally I would replace the swords and the head, but you could even go with these. Very nice model!

I have no idea about the size, but Orks are Orcs and put on 25mm bases usually, aren't they? So on the picture it should be a 25mm round base. Or this a troll-sized Ork?

That is, if you CAN swap the head :O
I agree on the weapons. Not savage enough!

He looks way larger than normal models, is there a 40mm round slotta base? If so, i think he is standing on one of those..

I also found this orc in the pic:

This guy is plastic and i can buy the torso+feet and heads individually on ebay. He seem fitting too, no?

VERY COOL MINI! AND, OH the possibilities! affraid

Other than the weapons & the spelling, there isn't much difference between Orcs & Orks. Just add some Mordheimy thingys to the Lad, like a lantern & such, & VIOLA! the Ork is an Orc. He could even be a Special Charater/Hired Sword; kind of an Orc version of a Dwarf Engineer...I game solo, so my "group" doesn't object to ideas like this.
The could be an UBERCOOL mini; I hope you go for it.

Snikrot (that's the ork) is indeed on a bit bigger base. he's a tad bigger then a boy, but would do great as a big 'un/chief/LGT. I actually think the swords look quiet crude, which would actually look fantasy enough with some minor conversions.

a head swap would probably be a good thing to do though.

Nice painting so far, And!

The Boss Snikrot miniature is indeed very nice, he's about the size of a Troll.. So you might be able to use him as a Troll? Smile
I'd replace the head and swords as well, though I think finding a good head for him will be tough. I'd recommend to use any of the new 40K Plastic Ork Nob Heads, they will be about the right size.

Keep up the good work!

Have you seen my Orc made from the plastic Runtherder?

I think Snikrot would make a great Boss for your Orc warband - the head is a seperate bit by the way!

Oooh it's awesome. Just like that!

Not sure about the squig though. Would rather have some nice weapons. Does regular orc boyz arms fit his torsoe?

Im afraid that snikrot is too big for a 25mm base?

There really is nothing in the rules that forces you to use WHFB size bases or even shape. It's not sportsmanlike to use a smaller base, but a larger one is acceptable. If you want to use a 25mm base, just extend the area he's standing on out over the edge...a section of collapsed wall or such would work well. thumbsup

True that, but i tend to use the bases im used to Smile

Great idea with the wall! I think i just might buy the plastic runtherder, since i like plastic models and he is a bit bigger and fatter that other orcs in my warband Very Happy

I somewhat disagree with the latter part. There are advantages and disadvantages to both extremes as I wrote here.

Yup. The right arm on mine is a regular Ork Boy'z arm.
(Left arms fit fine too!)

thanks for the replies!

Impulsive as i am i've just raced down to my local store and bought the snikrot! He isnt as big as i thought, so that's just perfect. sadly his feet are too armoured, so im thinking of cutting them off and convert some toes in GS.. How do you do that? :S

He also carries some kind of frag grenade or something, which must be made into something more mordheimy.. maybe a bell?

pictures up soon!

Could the grenade be a spikey mace? (with a little work)
Armoured boots? I'd leave them armoured if I were you...
