Here's a blast from the past: My Chaos Beastmen army for Warhammer 5th Edition from 1998. This was the first army I ever bought, in fact, these are the first miniatures I ever bought. I still remember my first visit at the local GW store where I bought a "batallion" plus a shaman. I was so excited.

So, these figures are of course horribly painted. Well, they are not even completely painted. I never finished the Bestigor regiment, the Warhounds and many of the Ungors are still unpainted as well. Unfortunately I can't find some of the models... I did paint a full regiment of spear wielding Ungors and it actually looked kind of okay but now I have no idea where they are. I am also missing the Minotaur Champion. I had one more Minotaur (the fourth one) but I gave that to my dad because he liked how I painted.

I was never too fond of playing Warhammer because I usually suck at rolling dice. When Mordheim was released I immediately abandoned the system.

Alright, here are the pictures:

I chose to not place Ghortor in his chariot because he made for a very cool Chieftain/Shaman:

When the first version of the Beastmen Raiders warband was published for Mordheim I started converting an Ungor "Lad's Got Talent". Back then it was cool to be able to use the Warhammer models again.

AND from these pretty decent looking beginnings the MASTER PAINTER of Cathay has arisen! affraid
VERY COOL STUFF! First loves ARE always cherished...I get the feeling there maybe reincarnations of these Lads appearing in Mordheim/BTB someday. WELL DONE, mein Freund! thumbsup
