So over on the Rules board there's been a thread about Corehim, in which the SoS FAQ from the Coreheim site came up.

Thread: https://boringmordheimforum.forumieren.com/rules-and-gameplay-f1/coreheim-t3200.htm

FAQ: http://www.indadvendt.dk/mordheim/sistersfaq.htm

Several people didn't think it was funny, thought it offensive, and called Asp out on it. He replied in a less-than-apologetic way and things went downhill from there. I then called him (and his friends) rape-apologists. Mostly to make them realize just how bad they sound.

He then called me a Holocaust-denier.

So, Asp, ol' buddy. Let's get started shall we?

-----

"So Tom says I should post links to peer reviwed studies.
DeafNala says that I should explain for the Nth time why rape jokes can be funny.
And Cianty says that any further posts not dealing with the rules will be deleted.
...as long as you can all agree. "

You posted two links, one to a (translation of) a book by Freud about jokes. Since only the introduction is available on Google books, I cannot find the passage where it says rape can be funny or why you should be allowed to make rape jokes. Could you be more specific?

The second link was to a study done in 2005 in which 29 males were shown different sexual and rape-related imagery and how this aroused them. Nothing about how 80% of women fantasize about rape (which was your original assertion) or why rape jokes can be funny. Did you notice that the abstract deplores the LACK of actual research into this subject?

"I would like to know why:
- Its okay for someone to call me and my friends "rape apologists", without the mods taking action, but not okay for me to pay that someone back in kind"

Because that's what you were turning into, by continuing to defend you poorly-chosen jokes in relation to an otherwise fun game about fantasy people beating the snot out of each other.
"Paying me back in kind" is also not calling me a holocaust-denier unless you can somehow show that I made a joke about the Holocaust. Which is bloody unlikely as my grandfather on my dad's side was Jewish and he lost several siblings to the Nazi's.

"The real trolls are the people who insist on being "shocked" and "offended" and then believing that such emotional states merit special treatment. *caugh caugh muhammed-cartoons caugh caugh*"

No one is asking for special treatment except you. Trying to turn this into some sort of free speech debate is also a rather weak debating tactic.

I stand by my earlier post about you being a rape-apologist, because that's exactly where your arguments were headed; a rape apologist is someone who blames the victim, which is what your SoS jokes were doing. Fine in itself (if you believe rape jokes can be funny), but when you then get called on it and defend your right to joke about something which some people find VERY offensive, you should expect some flack in return.

So if you want to call me names because you believe I called you names, at least come up with some good ones. Something about cheese and windmills, perhaps.

Holy-- pale

I will lock this thread for now. The entire issue has not been settled already anyways and we don't need another thread with a definite potential to go downhill. I do understand that people want to express themselves when they feel mistreated but in this case, please resort PMing Asp personally.

I am not saying this thread will have to remain locked forever but there are pending questions and actions already, so please be patient.

I would tend to agree with you, Hasselt. Flagrant violation of the Forum Rules & antisocial behavior in general carry certain penalties that will most certainly be meted out.

Please do not feed the Troll, Hasset. You can be right 1000 times, it will not change anything. It will just keep the discussion going artificially, will waste your time and it will pollute the forum with nonsense.

The mods did the right thing in closing this thread.

Thanks.

PS: Asp is banned for a week

though I again have to agree with most points made, I still think we can't approve this. I don't think we can support, or even allow a 'fight' being started on our forum. I'll stay out of it till further notice though.

btw. You don't make fun of our cheese and windmills, that'll make ME angry Coreheim SoS FAQ Icon_twisted
