I have a few models in a project I started some time ago and am just now getting back to finishing. The question I have is about touch up painting. Not from damage to the finish but because I want to change a color on a weapon. The models are based (though I will want to rebase them now that I know more) and clear coated but not matted. Can I just paint over the weapon parts and then clear coat them again?

As an Old Guy, I have lesser expectations Suspect .
In MOST cases, you can paint right over a spray finish without difficulty. Some finishes like Dull Cote & Workable Fixative actually provide better adherence than unsprayed minis. Only a VERY high gloss finish will give you any problems. thumbsup
