PostSubject: Possessed, Mutants, and Green Stuff   Fri 17 Jul 2009 - 7:19

So, I managed to get together most of the rest of the models for my Possessed warband (still need to buy Beastman though!). I wanted to try some conversions for the mutants... partially because, well, it's tough to find good mutant models and partially because I wanted to do something more personal. I'm no sculptor so my modifications are somewhat minimal, but I'm satisfied with them. There's still a few minor things to be done before I start painting these as well.

Yeah, this is one of the original Mordheim Possessed models, it's out of print. I found one on ebay. Smile Just search for Mordheim Possessed, I think there were more.

Update on the mutants. I added some spikes to the marauder, switched out the weapon on the daemonette and attached the whole arm, and touched them up a bit. They're pretty much ready for priming and painting now. Smile

Started painting... the first mutant is nearly finished. He still has a bit of work to be done, but he's getting there.

He's ALMOST done. I thought I had finished and was all excited, then realized he didn't have a shield yet. Doh!

Anyway, here's the nearly finished Marauder Mutant. I love how the spikes turned out.

Turned out better than I thought it would (been meaning to comment, but I kept up with the progress on Warseer and I refuse to get an account there). The paint looked pretty thick and uneven on the first set of wip pics but the washes seem to have pulled it together pretty well. The Devlin Mud wash is really a wonder of modern science... The only let down with the washes is that they stick to the high points so you either have to highlight after washing (like the 'Eavy Metal painters do) or highlight up a few shades lighter than normal and let the wash tone it down.

The spikes are really, really good. They 'make sense' and they really look like they sprouted from the arm bone. They're my favorite part.

COOL SPIKES! They look like they've freshly erupted from the Marauder's mutating bod. WELL DONE! thumbsup

Yeah, the first coat was a little weird looking. A lot of the paints I've been using have been sitting around a while and are a bit thick. I touched up a bunch of stuff before actually doing the washes.

Thanks a lot guys. I really like the spikes as well. I think they turned out better than I had even imagined. Smile

Finished! Completely!

He now has a shield AND a decorated base! I also based my Magister and Possessed, and there are a few pics of those on there as well.

Next up is the Daemonette.

Got a bunch of work done on the other mutant. She's look alright so far, but I need to make a few changes.

I re-did the arm part last night and it already looks better. I've got a few more changes to make, some washes to add, and the base to do and I'll be done and put up more pics. Smile

Looked over all of your conversions and painting, I must say it is inspiring. I am getting ready to start painting my Possessed warband and this really helps. Capital job bro!
