If am not mistaken they are the same rules as in LotR or Lot Old West / High Seas and I do prefer them to the strict alternating system from Mordheim/Warhmmer. But it's part of playing Mordheim... Now that's dumb and not an argument against it... Honestly, I have played mostly Legends recently and I'd actually like to play some traditional Mordheim again and I like the fact that it's different from Legends. But if the majority of the guests prefers this system, then we can do that of course.

More important is that you guys agree on a date though.

[EDIT: Sorry, misread your question.] No. If your range is 30" then 0-15" is short range and 15" - 30" is long range. Pistols ignore that rule however. No need to halve anything.

Long range = anything above half range. A weapon with a range of 8" has it's long range at 4 < x <=8.

Pistols have a range of 6". So shooting at anything further away than 3" is hit with a -1 modifier.

Duelling Pistols have a range of 10" and they always get a +1 bonus, so shooting at long range would be negated by that bonus and for short range you still have the +1.

No ignoring the long range modifier for either pistols or duelling pistols!

Jesus... Cianty is right... I could have sworn pistols have 8" and no long range :O I don't know what I smoked.

I think with the pistols, it's just that so many people house ruled that the rules for long range are ignored if the weapon does not shoot further than 10" that one could almost think it's an official ruling (I once thought the same and then asked DaBank).

As with the simultaneous rounds, we just made it up last time as we thought it would be easiest with hand-to-hand combats involving more than 2 parties. But we can see what we prefer when we meet, I think

(the girlfriend is leaving me for Australia for eight months just at the end of my holiday... and SHE decided I want us to spend my holiday together... anyone got a spare pare of balls so I might actually stand up and do what I want? for instance... a weekend of Gaming in Bremen? )

SIMPLE SOLUTION: You just tell her: "Woman, I AM going to Bremen. If you want time together, I MIGHT consider taking you with me." Then you club her up along side the head & drag her off.

The Big Meet Up could then take place in your hospital room.
