| What aspect of mordheim do you all like the most or evenly the most? For me i think its a mix of terrain building, but not painting as its one of my weaker points. I love making buildings and such. Modeling the warbands and buying their equipment (And if i ever get people to play it with a campaign where the warband would advance etc) and the fluff to a degree. the two major point sbeing the terrain and warband creation/building. the scale is nice too being a skirmish game which does not require as many models as a warhammer army, but if your like me and like to make all the combos just incase, then your talking about 40-50 models for a warband with every option covered you would realistically go for Moved to general Mordheim discussion - cianty_________________ | |

| What I like about it is, the Fluff, and ofcourse that you don't need an entire army to play a game. And ofcourse, the setting, in the city | |

| I like most to imagine what cool campaigns I could play had I someone to play with and what cool warbands and terrain I could make if I managed to do some continuous work | |

| I love the depth of the game. More then the standard hit and kill of warhammer, the experience and development almost of an RPG. It's the game I love. | |

| I LIKE SNIFFING THE GLUE, MAN...only kidding. I'm drawn to the Theatrical elements of the game. This embraces the modeling of terrain [the stage], painting/converting unique, colorful minis [the players], & narrative Fluff [the script].Actual game play is a rather low priority, but combining all the elements above creates a living picture of Daring Deeds, Vile Villainy, Swash Buckling Adverrture that appeal to the Ham Actor within moi. "Unhand that Maiden, Snidely Whiplash, you Coward, Bully, Cad, & Thief!" | |

| The reason for loving Mordheim is the character building and fluff. That is of course if you have no idea how to paint | |

| The continuity of the narrative. One thing that really disappoints me about most miniatures games is the fact that they exist in a bubble; once it is over, it is as if it never happened. I like the fact that every game builds upon the previous in a narrative story. | |

| Scenery, without doubt... I love building new scenery and coming up with great new pittoresque scenes.... and then crush some skulls against that well positioned wall! and of course the deeper narrative, you have to consider what would happen if you make the move, cause you will face the consequences in the next game if it turns out to be a bad move... Not many models are expendable... that makes it perfect for my playing style... oh and the scenery!! | |

| Collecting toy soldiers, painting warriors from failed armies, customising character models by butchering classic sculpts, building terrain, rolling dice, killing elves, making noise, organising campaigns, and heck I'm a bit of a sucker for band admin. Regards, Stu. | |

| What I love the most is being in endless campaign mode. Before Mordheim I would plan a campaign, recruit players, play a few games and the campaign would end. Or it would die because of the Campaign Curse. After Mordhiem came out it became much easier to maintain an endless cycle of varied campaigns. For 3 or 4 years I would rotate the setting between Mordheim, Lustria and Khemri. Now there's even more to choose from! Life is good. | |

| Strangely enough, my two favorite aspects are making Rules and converting miniatures. The rules are like a mental puzzle... if I raise this number and lower that one, what will happen? Can it be new and inventive, but still balanced? It definitely creates a wonderful challenge. As for converting, I used to be a really great painter, but now I can't sit down with my minis for long without thinking what strange new poses and combinations I can create. One of my pirates is doing a flip over a barrel-table... a totally impractical miniature (he's easy to shoot at), but it has so much life and energy. I'm also poorer than dirt, so I make it a point to never buy anything too costly to convert, but rather challenge myself to use what I have. And unlike WFB, I don't have to convert an ARMY, just a dozen guys. I can definitely say that I don't play for the victories... in two-three years of playing, I can count the number of games I've won on one hand | |

| Im with StyrofoamKing on this one. Almost ALL my models, in all my warbands (one, two, three, four, five... six... uhm... seven, and eight! Eight warbands, at this time anyway) are converted in some way. Some are heavily converted (such as my Araby Sheik) and some just tweaked a little.
Also, making new rules and writing articles, balancing aspects of the rules against each other, writing new warbands, campaigns (Im currently writing a 50+ pages long campaign, still growing) and scenarios. This aspect, for me, also includes the community part, which let one partake in the world of Mordheim and get suggestions, tips and help with everything, all thanks to, well, you guys <3 |

| Maybe I sound like an idiot, but i absolute love all the fluff. I don't see the game like "My 12 miniatures can beat your 11 miniatures!", I like to think that the leader, the mage, the 2 youngbloods, etc are "friends", "comrades" or my underlings and i've to lead them to the victory. I hate the make a wrong move and jeopardize their lives, as I hate too if they go OOA or they are hurt in other way.
But as I said, I love to think about them (at least when I'm playing) as someones to take care and, of course, enjoy when they 'learn' a new skill, get stronger, etc etc.
Soon, I'll start a new band, the Ostlanders, and play every week, a game or two, with friends. But the fun wouldn't end here, as I'll make too a blog/whatever about the band, writting reports like if was a novel, instead of "I roll and I impact their warrior, so goes OOA".
That's the good side of the Mordheim.
Of course, I love tactical games, play with affordable games, the fun and all, but the fluff it's all, for me.
And well, painting it's the worst side for me. Just because I suck.

| Writing new rules is the very last thing on my list! I love Mordheim because it's still the same game I learned 10 years ago (I say learned, there are still a few rules that allude me quite often!)
I love the developing narrative of a warband over the course of a campaign, the interaction with other warbands that creates a complex and multi-layered story. I love the way our tiny toy soldiers take on character and personalities all of their own in the minds of a group of friends (and not just in my head, as that tends to feel like I'm loosing it!). Fishgutz is a prime example, I'm not sure how much of his notoriety has been carried over in the campaigns I've cross-posted but he's talked about all the time - there is a real need among certain Flame Onners to see Fishgutz come to an untimely and sticky end. I love the way a setting can come alive and be more than just a bunch of names on a map. I love making and painting terrain and warbands, the later so much that I have to restrain myself or I'd have cupboards full of minis that would never see the light of day!
I love the community of Mordheim players - online and in real life - that develops around a really good campaign. Some of my best friends are Mordheim friends.

| The deeper narrative, for me.
I like the idea of taking a bunch of, often disparate, characters and seeing them gel and grow, or retire, or die.
I enjoy it when randomness gives you a Watch-Captain who's brain damaged but the best leader in the group, or a spear-armed Watchman with no bravery at all but an excellent skill with his pointy stick.
Things like that. I like creating and developing an ongoing story, and weaving it into and around other peoples'.

| I like the Scale. You can put together a Warband with 12 to 20 guys. So you don't have to spend months and months painting one war band. If I Clean, Asemble, Prime, and Paint about 2 hours a night, I can put out a starting playable warband in a week. Then the next week I can make all of the optional guys that I could hirer, do any touch-up, etc... In Normal Warhammer I could knock-out a smaller unit in a week, so if you are playing a high point game that could take months to get everything together. I also like the price, if I wanted to I could buy a Malitia Unit, and make a human warband for $35. Warhammer I'd only have 1 unit. I also like the units moving seperately, so you don't have a tray of guys all moving together instead you've got 12 to 20 models moving on their own terms. It feel more realistic. | |
