| Okay, I know it's been a while since I've posted anything new. A certain unfinished vampire comes to mind. However, I haven't been idle during this period. I have, in fact, been busy building my Skaven Warband, The Shankhill Butchers. The skaven are almost complete, but I'm awaiting the arrival of some more ghoul arms. I'm not a fan of the burly arms that come with the skaven sprues, so I've swapped them for the ghoul arms. I think the spindley ghoul arms better suit the rats. The entire warband is based on a robe hierarchy. Leaders get a full robe and hood, the Black Skaven get full robes & helmets, the Night Runners get hoods and loin clothes, and the Verminkin get cowls and loin clothes, as does the Rat Ogre. The Sorcerer & the Rat Ogre are the only complete models at the moment and the GS is still hardening, so no pictures today. The other models are almost done minus the aforementioned arms. Updates to follow soon. |

| Okay, here are the first 2 completely modeled members. The Sorcerer using a large chunk of warpstone to enhance his magic: - Spoiler:
Next, the Rat Ogre. You can tell by his use of the international symbol of disapproval that he is not a fan of the "Large Target" Rule. - Spoiler:

| Out of NOWHERE all these Rat Guys appeared! RUN! [I follow the Night Goblin adage: He who fights & runs away; lives to run another day. ] VERY COOL RATS! The Sorcerer looks REALLY cool with the Ghoul/Zombie arms. You're right; they do look much better/more approriate than the normal Skaven arms. AND I LOVE the Rat Ogre's attitude. This promises to be a very cool project to watch evolve. WELL DONE! The best thing about skirmish style games is that you can have multiple things going to maintain a high level of enthusiasm, AND still be making significant progress with them all. | |

| Wow, those ghoul arms look great on your sorcerer! I wonder if they'd make your assassin adept look a bit... weak though.
Great character so far on both models. Can't wait to see the rest.

I prefer the engineer version: 'He who spends the whole battle shooting people from amile away; lives to shoot another way (possibly with a cannon)'. Brilliant minis, I'm suprised that the rat-ogre has enough intelligence to express himself at all. He should go on Thick-as-Shit-Monster-Mastermind! Once again, great conversions!

Curse you Underbheit You know what they say about great minds. - Identity wrote:

wonder if they'd make your assassin adept look a bit... weak though. This is a valid concern. I like to save the leader for last, so I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. |

| A thin layer of putty over the major muscly areas should add enough bilk to the arms. Even sculpting a bit of fur on would work. | |

Thanks. That's another good point, but I really haven't decided which weapons to model so the pose of the arms is still in the air. I may use fur or robe sleeves to make the arms work, but again I'm not sure yet. - hero wrote:

| I don't think making the arms look weak should really be a concern even for the adept, after all skaven, and especially Eshin, are more about speed and finesse than brute strength. Those ghoul arms look perfect (wish I'd had that idea with my ratties ) | |

| Hey All, I've made a few more Skaven. You can't tell from the pictures but the arms are all magnetized. I want to make this warband as versatile as possible. Night Runners: Black Skaven: |

| Amazing work as usual, Donald! Nice idea to magnetize their arms, it makes it way easier to change equipment in a campaign. Now, we're all eager to see these dirty rats painted up.. aren't we fellas?! Cheers! | |

| The arms are great. They make the rats look even more... scary. And yes, I couldn't have told from the pictures about the magnets - and that's a very good thing, of course!
Awesome job (as usual)!

| Impressive work and conversions you have going! Love the Rat Ogre! Just the way some foul, huge beast that lives underground should react when they fire multiple missle weapons at him. | |
