Hello everyone!

After trawling the net for some decent Mordheim material I stumbled across this. Really impressed with the community and how your keeping the good old game alive. I've been on and off various games workshop products for years. 40k, Blood Bowl, Mordheim and Fantasy. Not so long ago I was going to give Fantasy another shot with an Empire army, but I'm a painfully slow painter and don't really have the time for tens upon tens of figures.

So deciding I no longer wanted to play fantasy (So indecisive) I decided I'd go back to an old favorite. Mordheim.

I think the small number of models means I can really take my time modeling, painting and going to town on detail. Looking forward to getting involved. Smile

The low number of models required, along with persistent characters between battles, is what has really kept me playing Mordheim. I'm a terrible painter so it's hard for me to sit down and try and paint a full fantasy army, but I don't mind doing a guy here and there for Mordheim.

Welcome. Smile

Skirmish Games ARE decidely the Realm of the modeler, painter, & storyteller. It allows us to create colorful characters that swashbuckle their way through cinematic terrain in a TRULY exciting game without the mind numbing tedium & expense of more traditional war games...GOD BLESS 'EM!

AND...WELCOME ABOARD cheers

Howdy! I agree with everything above about tyoes of game. I never really got into WHFB because once you got halfway through a game it was normally clear who's going to win. Sometimes you'd know by turn two. Wheras with Mordheim, there's always time for that lucky shot to take out the enemy's last-until-rout-test model.

Welcome to the forums!

While I love both Warhammer and Mordheim, I do prefer the skirmish style, evolving, in-depth characters of Mordheim to the static troops of Warhammer. And yes, I also paint very slowly so my warbands tend to be finished far before my armies. Smile

Cheers for the welcome guys! I should have some pics of my warband elder up soon, just finishing modeling a leather cap on him...

It always struck me in warhammer that the individual (excluding heros and Lords) were just faceless nameless little minions. I'm not really a fan of this vision. I like how personal and up close Mordheim gets, a real dark and gritty angle on the individual.
