Adm'rul Kurgan v2.0
New Plastic Pirate Orc Warboss

This is cross-posted from Da Warpath - it took a couple of days to do (I love the last bit of the Christmas; holidays between my Girlfriend going back to work an me going back to work!) I thought I'd share it with you guys as it gives a good insight into my converting and painting methods. Very Happy

I got the WH40k Ork Spearhead for Christmas and the first thing I did with the goodies in the box was make a new fantasy Warboss for my Orc Pirates (Warhammer army). I've been wanting a plastic Warboss for ages as I've gone right off having metal models in a mostly plastic army. My 40K Ork army is almost 100% plastic now and my Pirates are getting close.

Here's what the old Adm'rul used to look like:

And this is the start of the new version. He's the same height to the shoulder (as the Warbiker Nob torso is huge! It's the size of body that the plastic Warboss kit should have been!).

So far I have used: The Warbiker Nob torso, head and arms; Ogre hands (and sword); 2 Empire Outrider pistols; a Dwarf pistol; two trophy-string thingys from the Beastman musician's horn; a Beastman's plat; a Dwarf gunpowder pouch and a Dwarf barrel.

The missing bitz (to be added after the Greenstuff is done):

Next: the Greenstuff work - stay tuned!

Last bit of work from the first day - I had to let the Greenstuff cure for a few hours at least!

The long coat is a bit hidden by the pistols (I added an extra one, so that's four in total now) and the grog barrel, but it is there.

Added his pointy goatee beard as well.

Not far off finished now! Everything is base-coated and ink washed, the mid-tones are done. Some of the highlights are finished too.

Just the detailing like tattoos, basing and final highlights to go.

Cheers guys!

The hair bitz are from plastic Beastmen: two trophy-string thingys from musician's horns and a Beastman Gor's platted pony tail.

I love em! If they need a new home let me know. LOL.

Arr! I love the pistols that are plastered all around him.

If you have any campaign rules for your Sarasota campaign, let me know I would love to see them.
