Hey, everyone, I'm matt. I got into Mordheim right when it came out, but kind of fell off the wagon along the way. I am looking to put together a new Reiklander army and get some games in. I'm interested in learning scenery making tips as I'm in the process of making a complete set of terrain. I'm also looking for other Mordheim players in San Antonio, so if you are local, be sure to let me know.

welcome to the forums.

For the warband you can easily make this by buying a box of emipire milita and if needs be an empire general spruce, this allows your captain a more armoured look and more weapons (Bigger and grander) to use, just stick to the fun of ranged weapons on your marksmen and captain / champions if you can afford it and your set.

For terrain its extremely simple to throw together 10 building sfor very cheap, Your probably talking about £20 total to build and paint them all and still have change left over.

For the materials alone i was able to build 10 well sized buildings (Some bigger, some smaller but all decently sized) for £10, thats the balasa wood, foamboard and glue. the extra 10 would prob buy you the modeling knife (Remember to stay safe... wow i sound like a disclamer add) and paint , some pva glue to seal the edges.

Thanks, guys. I was planning on the militia trick (that's how I made my Middenheimers eons ago) but for some reason the empire captain idea didn't dawn on me until you said it. That also gives me lots of extra bits! I was trying to make some buildings earlier, first out of cereal boxes, then out of regular cardboard. They looked pretty good (trimmed with split Popsicle sticks) but were not sturdy and I had some trouble getting the corners looking good. I'm going to switch to pink foam. As far as theme, I want to make the second stories almost like another board. Lots of second floor real estate and walkways and bridges between them to allow lots of sniping and diving attacks!

COOL! I also like the idea of extending the playing surface vertically. Not ONLY does it at least double the playing field, but Swash Buckling melees on rickety walkways HIGH above the streets is THE HEIGHT [pun intended ONLY if you find it amusing Suspect ] of Heroic Action. thumbsup
