| Because i'm almost done with my chaos dwarves a made a start with a new project: Salamanders (I'm actualy more of a 40K player than a fantasy/mordheim player... ). Here is the first test model: I dindt really like the flames so I think im going to sculpt them on some of my models. Here are the first few, I've only finished the shoulder pads, more gs flames are underway! As alway: please let me know what you guys (and girls of course) think! | |

| As I scrolled down my first impression was " COOL flames". Then I came to your comment that you didn't like them. So much for the "Great Minds" thingy. The first Lad turned out REALLY nicely, AND his friends have TREMENDOUS potential, especially considering whose going to be painting them. | |

| I'm assuming some of these models are from the Assault on Black Reach box set?
Good work with your conversions, and curious to know if you're using a self-made mould for the shoulderpads?

Yup, the upperbody of the rocktlauncher en the legs of the marine on the left are from AoBR. - Quote :

Correct again . My first plan was to use transfers and re-paint them, but then I got the termi-shoulderpads from forge world and these logo's were even better then I tought! So I made a mould of them! They work great:D.

| Great work on those guys. I like the darker green you used rather than the Snot Green approach GW have taken in recent years. Back in Rogue Trader days, Salamanders wore almost black armour. There were even paints called Salamander Black (very dark green, almost black) and Salamander Green (the highlight colour). The Dragonbreath pattern flamer is good too. Very reminiscent of some of the artwork. | |

Ah I see what's happened here, you must be getting some sort of interference off my great mind as I happen to agree with you (think that just about makes sense ). Really cool work on these salamanders, I like the incorporation of the metal bits with the flames.

| Wow! From the lava bases to the to standards, the squad looks fantastic. I wish I could produce one model of such quality in a month, not to mention ten... I really like how you have tough grass on your lava bases. Really distinguishes them from the thousands of other lava bases (and looks sweet). The standards are also unbelievable. Fantastic job! (although I'd prefer such talent to be focused on mordheim ) | |

| I feel so inferior... my hat (well beanie) is off to you sir - VERY impressive, I can't wait to see what else you will bring to the table for this army!!
I really like the darker green it gives them a far more imposing feel than the standard scheme. The way the dragon is facing is explained by you sing FW castes, so I won't mention that. May I enquire as to the purpose of the bone helmets? They appear to be a tactical squad so the helmets vary from the 'official' scheme. If they are a Sternguard Veteran or Command Squad then it would be explained by their seniority, but as is I am perplexed...
Again simply amazing work!!

I will post it at the work in progress section! @Blackjack 13: The bone helmets are just for kickes! | what is that green? looks lovely on the models. and good to see another marine painter on the forums. are you going to do the entire army to the same high standard or will the rank and file troops be given a little less love? _________________

| @ Duce: The green is orkhide shade and highlighted with more and more snot green in it. And I will try too finish the entire army this way.... Small update: First a unit of scouts. I had one spare scout body from the sprue and a rocketlauncher so I put those on a pair of guardsman legs and bulked tose out with some greenstuff, so now I can choose to field a misslelauncher or heavybolter And I started on a scout biker riding a coldone: | |
