Is Sculpy III suitable for use as an alternate for Green Stuff? I found some packs of it stored, and was wondering if I could use that for filling in gaps, and improving conversions needing a little green stuff.

No, sculpy needs to bake to harden, greenstuff is self hardening.

Yeah, I went ahead and baked it at a low temp, with an increased time in the oven. Spear went a little wobbly, but I fixed that. The Sculpey didn't harden 100%, but it did harden enough to work with. How much is GS? Where can I get it, as Micheals didn't have it...

I shouldn't really say anything since I haven't checked in a while, but CMON used to sell it by the roll.

Alas no giant roll but this one by polymeric systems who still seems to make the roll.

I know GW sells GS but it is expensive for very little quantity. I usually get my GS from Ebay. You can get a lot for very little that way.

I got a pack of three tubes for 30 us dollars. Not bad, considering it's my first purchase. Also, I now have a coupon for 25% off next order. So, next one should cost 22.50 for three tubes!

www.GreenPutty.com is where I got the deal. They still have the deal going on as well. 1 Tube on sale for 12.00 US. 3 Tubes on sale for 30.00 US. After first order, you get code for 25% off next purchase.

Best way to use code:

Buy 1 tube at 12.00
Get code
Buy 3 tubes for 22.50
4 Tubes total for 34.50
Average cost of 8.67 US dollars each

Other option:
Buy 3 pack for 30
get code
buy 3 pack for 22.50
6 tubes for 52.50
Average cost of 8.75 US dollars each

(No, I am not getting paid for this, but I wish I was!)

Uh, am I doing this right? I tried cutting equal sections of this blue/yellow and mixing them, but it's not right, from my perspective. Too thick, and tears easily. What did I do wrong?

Water lots of water, keep it wet while working on it, fingers, tools, everything (unless sticking it to something else then keep the surface intended for fixturing dry, it may be epoxy but its not gods gift to man!)

and to rub off fingerprints, one can use lubricants of almost any kind I'm using a petroleum based one (bought in a squishy tube from most drugstores Rolling Eyes) This helps when doing armour casting from negatives and also in the baking part, try different combinations to see if its the blue or yellow that is used as hardener, one making it pliable one makes it stiffer, (and more prone to "snapping") when thin.

Oh yeah, best results (pliability wise)comes when its finger warm, but cold water in the 'dipping' container helps keep it pliable for longer. and make sure its green through and through,or it might just be that its not completely mixed.

Neutral oh s*d it, its too late for my head right now, gonna put on some more coffee before I keep spell checking Razz
If theres anything just ask, chances are I havent updated the post thoroughly enough

20g of green stuff from Games Workshop costs 10 US dollars. GreenStuffIt.com sells 200g for about 24 US dollars. Its part of the MiniWarGaming.com site. They are based in Canada and post tons of really entertaining videos on Warhammer 40k tactics and modeling tricks on YouTube. Just figured I'd let you guys in on one of my very few useful tips. Wink
