Confrontation mini's

hey guys and girls

ok i am after some confrontation stuff and looking on there site it says they have some pre painted mini's so have any of you bought any ??

its the templars of the north hero's i want to know about is there paint work as good as the pics ??

It's not. I've seen them in the stores and I am not impressed. While there metal line was beautiful, their pre-paints are pretty bland. I don't like the size of the minis, nor the paint job. I'm pretty sure what you see on their website is the pre-painted mini painted up by their painting department.

ahh see i thought that may be the case thats why i wanted to post on here asking before sending off to there sites and finding out the hard way - think i will have to do more research and take a look in person will keep your words in mind dude cheers

Basically Rackham had Confrontation miniatures for their game of the same name and they were epically painted metal models. However, making the most stupid move of their company's life they decided to turn it all pre-painted. In a single motion almost worldwide gamers stopped playing the game because Rackham screwed their customer base outright by providing crappy prepainted mini's, not even well painted pre-painted mini's. You can still get thier metal miniatures apparently but at the original store prices or more(?) now and they fall udner the Confronmtation Classics Range. Alternatively, look for the original suppliers to each country et al and see if they have anything left for sale. The Tin Soldier in Sydney (Australia) still has a very limited selection of the metal mini's left all at 50% off the marked price...

THE TIMES THEY ARE A'CHANGING

Jean Bey, the former head honcho at Rackham, had an announcement over on the Wyrd Forum about the company's bankruptcy case. They are now owned by a new firm, & Jean will be the creative director. From the new releases there seems to be a return to producing their lovely metal minis, at least, for the fantasy range. COOL, huh!?

I'm thrilled - Rackham figs are (in my opinion) some of the finest sculpts table-top gaming has to offer. A small part of me died when they went to pre-paints, and I pee myself a little every time they release a new metal for their Legends line.

Lol, I recently bought a lot of cheap Rackham models, because, they looked fun (lots of stuff which GW doesn't have, and I love those Wolf guys), and the store where I usually buy my GW, had a major discount on all Rackham, they aren't gonna sell it anymore, since noone plays it any more (because of the pre-painted change).
Anyway, this may not be exactly on topic, but this was just something I wanted to share
