Dawn of War II - Trailer

THQ keeps up the tradition of awesome trailers with this gem for Dawn of War II. Even though I am not a big fan of the 40K universe, I have to say that this is very well done. Especially the open end that leaves you wondering what EXACTLY she means.

And let's not forget the beautiful depiction of charging Howling Banshees and Spectral Spiders. Almost makes me want to dig out my old eldar army Eldar again... almost.

Fire Warrior... omg, what a shitty game. I could not bear more than 6min of that crap before I uninstalled it again. No offence meant to FIre Warrior players...

This seems to be some sort of 40k monopoly. everyones trying to get that planet, so it must have a high rent or something

also that is a hive fleet, so the 'nidz will be seeing some action (finaly!)

Have all the origional DOW games. played it hardcore on multiplayer when first came out but eventually lose interest in being competative and its more played for single player now..

God i miss the old days of scout rushes and when i could have squads of marines out with heavy bolters within minutes. now have to upgrade for those pretties

Oh btw - if you have steam you can download the multiplayer beta for DOW2 for free! Takes ages to download but it looks fun! Of course there's some crap with my graphics card vs the current game graphics (which are pretty corny at the test stage, i think they're holding it back for the real game) but it looks awesome even with those graphics.. My game crashes after 2 mins ingame or so, but it looked to me like there's no buildings anymore - they've made it more army based with just a single HQ building spawning all your units..

i'm sure i've seen turrets in some screenshots. or am i wrong?

haven't played it that long - but they seem to start with 2 at your HQ

can't wait for it to come out so i can play single player through.

Well, that is the first conclusion that we all draw (from the short version of the trailer). But can be be certain?

Actually, it's more the lack of opponents and the fact that I am not a big fan of the 40K universe... I used to play Space Morons myself (lol). I have to say that I felt the Eldar were VERY powerful back in whatwasit 3rd edition. And I usually had little trouble slicing up space marines with mine

If the situation presented itself, I think I would try a little 40K game again, for old time's sake. I also thought of stripping all my old space marine models and making a fun-themed chapter out of them (I do have an idea in mind, but I still need to think of it a little more).
@ "Ultra-Morons"

Space-Marines (also known as spazz-marines) and IG are the only two 40K armies I've ever felt drawn too. Space marines because of their rather dubious loyalties (I always preffered the chapters that are one-step from chaos) and the IG because of their tanks. (Who doesn't love the idea of twenty plastic tanks rolling across a table led by a banebalde or two?!)

The trailer IS referring to Tyranids - they made an extended one where the commander fights a huge ass tyranid (not enough into nids to know if it's a lictor/tyrant/carnifex/whatever)

Well, Tyranids are the new race of Dawn Of War, so probably she was talking about them

As a game, what's DoW like? I don't even know what sort of game it is, MMORPG, tactical, combat, platform, whatever.
