| How do you determine if a character is still in difficult terrain? The logical answer is "if any part of his base is over the terrain feature," but consider this example: My ogre's large base is two thirds out of a forest feature. Is he still -1 to be shot at? Does he still move at half speed for those millimeters until his base is completely free of the feature? | |

| For situations like these I found that you have to be strict. This means that once the base starts overlapping the forest section apply the movement modificator. Everything else only ends in confusion and arguments... | |

| I guess that, at some point, the fluff breaks down and we can see the rules operating underneath.
It is as I thought then. Thanks guys. | |

| To my group, this is how terrain works: the modifier on movement is based on distance to take the model out of the terrain. So, if it's half an inch of difficult terrain underneath him, it makes up 1" of his movement to clear it (when it doubt, round UP). As far as cover, think of it practically: when being shot at, is a tree obstructing any part of the Ogre's body? If so, it's -1 to hit. If not, then no cover. I don't know about your group, but when determining line of sight and cover, we physically climb ourselves to the model's POV (or best we can, based on scenary), and see what the shooter sees. If there's a disagreement of opinions, get a third, impartial person to look. If you still can't decide, roll for the shot: unless the hit missed by one less than the required, unobstructed shot, then it doesn't matter whether or not he's in cover or not. If you make it by one, resume the argument (using force if necessary to win your argument .) | |

| To find how many inches of movement it will take to clear rough terrain, take the distance from the front of your model's base to the edge of the rough terrain add the width of the model's base then multiply by 2. | |
