Third picture-post of the day (Sorry!)

Just some shots of 'random' miniatures I've gathered to use in Mordheim... figures which don't currently fit into the warbands that I'm creating, but I've bought them anyway, to use either as a scenery piece, or as an accompaniment for one of the warbands, or to use in a future warband....

Firstly, 'The Boys' - two youngblood figures (or is it three?)
Rich's Random Models Boys

Secondly, a Priest (he's holding a crucifix up in the other hand, by the way.)

Seated Chaps

And some Sneak-Thieves/Rogues
Rich's Random Models Thieves

I'm looking to create a Thieves warband in the future - lots of cloaks, masks, long coats etc... I may use the seated chaps in a terrain piece somehow... maybe a destroyed drinking-den which a human warband has stumbled into, perhaps they've raided the cellar, which is still full of barrels of the finest ale in the city?

As for The Boys, I'm not sure... I'd have to have them converted to have matching weapons... but for now, I'm going to get some experience in gaming with Youngbloods, as I've not used them much before... and maybe I'll get a better idea of how to equip them...

Anyway - if you have any ideas of different ways to use these miniatures, let me know! All suggestions are welcome, and greatly appreciated!

Rich

P.S - Many, many thanks to all who suggested ideas regarding the photography of these miniatures!

The two boys look great!
And you could use the wooden sword either as a sword or a club!

However, if you start this piece of terrain you've been thinking about, please tell us Wink

Tagnator - I haven't seen the 'frenzied mob' rules... I don't suppose it's available online anywhere?

edit; I've now found them with a simple google search - doh! Embarassed

Also - I buy all of my models through eBay... I'm an absolute addict! Lots of waiting and searching for the right model, with the right look, with the right equipment, in the right pose, in the right condition..

Hi again guys, Apologies as I've been fairly inactive on the forum over the christmas period, due to work commitments... due to which, I've not yet been able to begin converting and painting my models, however, I have continued to gather more warbands... attached are some pics.

I have also begun experimenting with bases... shown in the 3rd pic

FIrstly, the beginnings of my Orc warband. These are Foundry miniatures, as I prefer the character of them, and the clothing really suits the style of warband that I'm putting-together.
Rich's Random Models DSCF0001

Next-up, my Skaven which are 90s Citadel models. Lots of rats, lots of spears. The warband is used in typical Skaven fashion - running at the enemy in groups, outnumbering them... jabbing them with spears...
Rich's Random Models DSCF0004

Finally, a shot of the bases I've been working on...
Rich's Random Models DSCF0008

I've also gathered a Posessed warband, which is made from the Mordheim models, which you've all no doubt seen a million times before, so I won't post pics. I also have a Ninja warband coming together, but I'm unsure which warband rules to use for them, and may even write my own.... I'm also beginning to put together my Dwarves and Undead, and am planning many more!

I've also started writing some 'Fluff' for my warbands, which I may post soon... and I've also begun sketching plans towards my games table...

Any comments and/or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Ok guys, I couldn't resist... a bit of a teaser, as these models are currently in the post, on their way to me...but here are some more shots...

Beastman Group to possibly go towards a full-on Beastmen Raiders warband. Although I prefer the Ungor models, which follow... so, I may not end-up using the beastmen at all!
Rich's Random Models Beastmen

Rich's Random Models Ungor

Next-up, some Dwarves again (as with my Orcs) these are Foundry models, as I prefer the character of these models to the Citadel range... I'm going to convert the models to include a few more axes, and a whole bunch of pistols!
Rich's Random Models Foundrydwarves

Also - an old Citadel model, which is PERFECT for use as part of a statue/tomb scenery piece. I'm currently sketching ideas for how to use this piece...
Rich's Random Models Cyril

Oh, also, here is a shot of the Ninja warband that I mentioned in a previous post - as requested by another member via PM.
Rich's Random Models DSCF0006

I'll get some better pics, and some close-ups done soon, but might wait until I've started painting the models... we'll see! I'll be sure to keep you all posted

Ok guys, I've been working, playtesting, and then re-working my Beastman warband, and this is the current setup... it will continue to change with play...

Beastman Chieftan (85gc) - Double-Handed Weapon (15gc) = 100 GC

Beastman Shaman (55gc) - Battle Axe (5gc) = 60 GC

2 x Gors (90gc) - Double-Handed Weapons (30gc) = 120 GC

7 x Ungors (105gc) - Spears (35gc) = 140 GC

4 x Ungors (60gc) - Axes (20gc) = 80 GC
______________________________________________________________
TOTAL = 500 GC
______________________________________________________________

This gives me the full 15-man maximum number of models in the warband, it gives me 4 Heros for the exploration charts, and gives me a lot of (somewhat expendable) warriors... I armed all 11-gors with spears at first, but find it more fun to use some with axes too...

Let me know what you think, and wether you'd do it differently... I've tried adding the maximum third Gor to the ranks, and have also toyed with Chaos Hounds, but I personally like this setup at the moment...

I don't know where you got your warband list from, but the prices are off. I calculated your warband with the empire in flames pdf from the specialist games page and it looks as follows:

Beastman Chieftan (65gc) + Double-Handed Weapon (15gc) = 80 GC

Beastman Shaman (45gc) + Battle Axe (5gc) = 50 GC

2 x Gors (90gc) + Double-Handed Weapons (30gc) = 120 GC

7 x Ungors (175gc) + Spears (70gc) = 245 GC

4 x Ungors (100gc) + Axes (20gc) = 120 GC

total = 615 points

Rich is using prices from the old version of the Beastmen Raiders (Town Cryer 7), where beastmen still had two wounds (due to the Warhammer rules of that time). Most people deem this list to be overpowered and it has been officially updated by the new version which has been published first in Town Cryer 29 and then in the Empire in Flames supplement. Everyone can play at home what they want but the re-design happened for a reason so I'd say use the most current official list.

ps: and you don't want to miss using the Centigor, do you? Wink

I guess that explains why the beastmen from the possessed list are so much tougher than those from the beastmen list.
