Hey me and my friends wish to include another game to our list, although this time we are going to the future baby!

Is there any similar game to Mordheim with similar gameplay and rules but 40k ish?

Cheers
Hellfoot

Necromunda. It is essentially the same, just in the 40k universe.

Plus there's the as yet untitled game that Mordheimer and Da Bank are developing, as far as I'm aware it's in the end stages at the moment...

Sorry... Necromunda is NOT like Mordheim 40k-ish. Necromunda is a skirmish game, based on 40k 3rd edition, located in a particular Hive. It is about the struggles of power between HUMAN gangs. There are no Space Marines nor other races (even if you try to work out the 'module' Ash Wastes... or whatever is called.) If you like Mordheim and you are looking to have the same experience in the 40k Universe, Necromunda will not do it for you. You will have to be "open" to Necromunda to enjoy the game. Personally I dislike its rules; it gets pretty complex for the sake of 'realism', sacrificing the fun (it is supposed to be a game!) Some swear by Necromunda... but once you play Mordheim, you can't get over the feeling that Necromunda is missing stuff! No

You could try World In Arms, which is a pretty nice attempt to use Mordheim Game System in 40k. You need to know how to play Mordheim (a.k.a. know the rules!) to play WiA. Information on the warbands is minimal (just stats) so if you are not familiar with a particular race/faction/group... you are SOL. Also... no Space Marines. I do like the concept, but it feels like Mordheim-in-Space. Suspect

I'm not one of complaining and criticizing for the hell of argument (a.k.a. bitch-and-moan but do nothing.) I'm the type of that 'takes the bull by the horns'... If you want a complete experience you would have to be patient. DaBank and myself are working on a complete 40k skirmish game; Death Squads.

There are several threads on the subject, I especially like the one when I ask for names for the game, but basically it takes the best of all of the skirmish games and blends them together. We believe that it is what Kill-Team should had been. It will have enough modular rules (sections) to allow anyone to make their own campaign style (bikes gangs, Space Hulk incursions, ship-to-ship boarding, military complex infiltration... you name it!)

So far the manual is over 150 pages long and includes EVERYTHING you need to learn how to play. We have Imperial Guard and Orks Squads completed, and are working on adding the next two Squads. Once is more complete, we will release it. So far, the reaction from many veteran players who have seen it has been very positive. I guess you just have to wait a little longer...

Hellfoot: What models do you guys have to play "40K/Sci Fi" Skirmish Games?

What race would you be intersted in playing?

Mordeimer and I are working on an awesome project that is six months in the making and it is in the final stages as noted by Jackarnoy.

It has a lot of many GW/SG worked into it.

There are a few on this forum who have been given access to what we have done so far and I will let them give their thoughts on it. Cough, "Duce, Eliziar, Deafnala" Cough.

@Jack..Thanks for the plug. Very Happy Smile

I HATE to disagree. Mordheimer, but Necromunda sounds an awful lot like a 40K/SciFi version of Mordheim to moi. In Necromunda the Gangs [War Bands] violently compete for dominance & credits [dominance & Wyrd Stone] in the crumbling, dangerous ruins of the lower Hive [crumbling, dangerous ruins of the Comet struck City of the Damn]. The action can be taken out of the Hive [City] into the Ash Wastes utilizing supplementary material from the Nercomuna /Fanatic Mag. [Empire in Flames, BTB, Khermi. Lustria from supplementary material & Mags]. Included is an Injury table that carries disability effects from game to game in a campaign setting [ditto]. Similar? Suspect

A couple differences to Mordheim & 40K. In Nercomunda all the Gang members are treated as individuals capable of advancement in a manner limited to the Heros in Mordheim; there are no henchmen groups. AND it lacks the more objectionable elements of Gestapo/KGB-like Inquisitors, Neo-Nazi Space Marines, & Daemons that haunt the 40K games.

It always looked like an enjoyable game to moi, & MIGHT be worth a peek. thumbsup

I believe Mordheimer meant that Necromunda does not have the "complete" 40K feeling. You know, chaos, IG, Orks, Eldar and etc.

DaBank, like always, put in plain English.

Necromunda feels like Mordheim-in-the-future, not as much as a "40k" skirmish. You could play Necromunda feeling you are in a weird 'City of Lost Children' or even a centralized city in 'Dune', rather than 40k. It is a good game on itself, but you can't port it successfully.

Think that Empire in Flames did an OK job taking Mordheim out of the City of the Damned... it took something like BTB to really take it beyond. Ash Wastes seemed to me (I just read it, not played it) like half-cooked... like something is missing.

Anyone who immerses in the Necromunda fluff would love the game... anyone looking for a 40k skirmish would feel like something is missing.

lol! Actually I LOVE the way you two guys express your thoughts; i.e., Mordheimer in a long flowery in depth sort of way & Da Bank's brief & to the point prose. You two make a GREAT & rather complete team. thumbsup

I always wanted to try a 40kMordheim mash up game. My SM Scouts would always face off against my son's genestealer cult in a ruined city. We just home brewed some rules adjustments, nothing with character building though.
