Bots online?

I don't know if i should post it here, but what does it mean if there is a bot online?

bot as in on the forum? maybe its a member's nickname i'll check it out

It must be some kind of advertisement bot - a computer programme designed to leave messages in forums or chatboxes, generally ads or porno-links.
As long as you have to register to post on this forum, I think we have nothing to fear from bots - they can't register so they can't spam.

Tom: don't even try on "removing" the bot: you would have to ban his IP adress but bots keep coming back with new IP each time.
It's like a goblin invasion: you kill dozens of them, but they keep coming, trying to rush your fortress and slaughter your townspeople, and although you have the best archers at your command, positionned on the inner walls, you can't seem to stop them ...

You're right!

Although I googled around to find out what a "Yahoo Bot" is and I found sites that told me that it was a trojan.
That does not really make sense, because what would that trojan do on the forum? Unless my PC is infected with it, and this virtual "user" acesses the forum over my IP.

Anyway, I think I'll have to ignore it... (making a virus scan on my HDD though).

No seriously, I have seen that thing before, but I have no clue what it is... I chose to ignore it. We'll see if it deletes my hard drive or not. If it does, we'll know it was a virus/trojan/alien power from outer space.
