Do you know what he used to plaster the outside of the platform? Looks like... well, plaster. Wink But I guess if real plaster (or otherwise very hard/brittle) stuff was used, it would be prone to being damaged if the piece was handled/transported roughly.

Or has anyone else used some stuff like this and can give a recommendation?

Of course, if you apply enough burutality, you CAN damage just about anything. Assuming you're not into Vandal mode, Woodland Scenic Foam Putty IS the thing: it works like spackle, but, when dry, it has the same properties as pink foam; i.e., you can carve it, sand it, AND it's Neither rock hard nor particularly brittle. Most good model railroad shops would carry it, or you could order from www.walthers.com . HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. thumbsup

That is totally fantastic work. Props to all who worked on it. And especially great work on the photography. Excellent work.
