Stunned/KD-counters

Not as much a rule.. more in the "gameplay" part

Our group (if we can still call it such) used some coloured cones for statuses so we didn't have to move the models, and it made both combat and shooting a lot easier because the models stayed in the same place..

Stunned: Red cone
Knocked down: Yellow cone
Just got up (striking last): Blue cone
Hidden: Black cone


once a warrior was stunned, we simple placed a stack next to him with a blue cone at the bottom, with a yellow and a red on top - that way the model still stood where he was struck and it was easy just to pull off a small cone in each recovery phase..

Just throwing it out there - it made our gaming much easier


(and you don't scratch your precious paintjobs all the time hehe)

EXCELLENT IDEA! In addition to saving the paint job, some minis are rather difficult to place in a face down/face up manner. You get a GOLD STAR for this one.

I think it is a great idea also, let me know if someone comes up with some good "markers" for this.

Yes! Where can we get these cones? I have been toying with the idea of coloured glass beads like they sell for little display thingies/flower pots maybe? Not explaining myself well but I know what I mean....fklat glass beads like they sell in IKEA...
but these cones sounds awesome, love the stacking/removing idea...and it would mean not scratching models you've spent ages painting!

An idea occured to me as I was browsing my way through GF9 looking for cone surrogates. May be using some stackable poker chips might work. Just arrange the colors in the stunned/ knocked down/stood up pattern & stand the mini on the stack.
The added height MIGHT also be a reminder that something is going on with the lad.

BTW www.gf9.com is a fine source for gaming accessories, craft supplies like GS, AND they have a VERY nice terrain gallery for a bit of inspiration.

Poker chips might be too big. Their are lots of places on my board where a poker chip wouldn't fit...

How about checkers? True, they only come intwo colors, but you can get some pretty small ones.
OR [light goes on in my dim old mind ] how about using some round, preferrable slotless,25mm plastic bases? Paint them in the appropiate colos & VIOLA stackable markers.

I think I'll try and get holdof some steel and copper pipe, steel fits over copper, copper - KD, steel - Stunned. Can't remember if the local steel-yard does copper, but my dad will probably have some I can blag. For hidden bits of square-bar cut into flat square sof appropriate size.

we used cones because we had them from some stupid boardgame that didn't really work i guess you can use everything - or build your own cones from cardboard or something? hehe, i'll try to find the name of the boardgame so you can look for it, think it's an old one so might be pretty cheap, even just for the cones.. hehe

Man, I really like this idea. I think i just gonna use some round bases with a Big "S" or "K" on it!
