Some VERY COOL STUFF there! TERRIFIC kit bashing work on the Orcs. I LOVE the supply train; the Vulture looks like he's giving directions. The Reaper Banshee Babe is turning out GREAT...nice choice of colors. VERY WELL DONE!

NOW YOU'VE DONE IT! I've painted the Banshee for other folks a couple of times, & I have one more that's been kicking around waiting for attention FOREVER. Yours is turning out SO COOL that now I HAVE to paint mine. Thanks for the motivation AND the excuse.

VERY GHOSTLY! I LOVE the base...the swirling Autumn leaves are the PERFECT accent to the piece. It inspired moi to the point where I have mine underway...a lovely mini to work on. VERY WELL DONE!

I'm not REALLY a fan of quite a lot of the GW Wood Elf minis...particularly the War Dancers & Tree Thingys. HOWEVER, your painting is SUPER; VERY WELL DONE!
I hope Old Woodsy Tom the A finds your new minis.

Aaaah, Wood Elves. Can't get enough of those!

I think you did a great job on blending the browns on the dryads, and with the color scheme in general. Very neat paintjob so far.

I have a little bit of mixed feelings about the red though... I don't mean the wardancer hair, which looks cool, but rather the red cloth and the red bits on the Treeman. On one hand, it gives the band a unique color theme and ties it together coherently, but on the other, I am an incorrigible supporter of camouflage-ish/organic colors. And as such, it feels a little bit... how to put it... "flashy" for wood elves. I guess I personally would have chosen something less constrasting.

BUT: this detail - of little importance - aside I think your warband is definitely coming on very well, and already looks very impressive.

I am really excited to see it finished.

As the perrenial Devil's Advocate, the red is my FAVORITE color on the Woody Folk...it gives them an Autumn feel. Ultimately though the colors you chose are the ones YOU like.

Thanks for comments Smile

I combined the camouflage (glade guard) with warmer colours (heroes and war dancers) so the team would not be monotonous. Red/orange knarl on treekin mark danger - so as red mushrooms (toadstools).

I myself was pretty disappointed when I ordered a pair of wardancers. They turned out to be very small compared to the glade guard and heroes; to the point where I decided not to use them.

How do you paint your reds, man? I need to do some squigs and if you're getting that from washes I'd like to know about it because blending is a pain!

Scab Red (Squig) or Scorched Brown (Bloodletter) + Scab Red/Red Gore (1:1) + Red Gore + Devlan Mud Wash (Squig) or Badab Black (Bloodletter) + Red Gore/Blood Red (1:1) + Devlad Mud + Blood Red.
