| Hey there everyone. I'm Jape, pleasure to make your aquaintance. Err... little about me, Im a Uni student whoes been out of GW-ing for about two/three years (christ its been a long time!). I've always been a fan of the 'smaller scale' games such as Inquisitor, partly for the RPGing aspect, the cool background and because I'm suffer thematic ADD and never get beyond two or three squads with WF or W40k before galavanting off somewhere else. Most of all I love Mordheim and its many spin-offs and with the urge to return, I soon dusted off my old Rulebook. So yeah thats me, how do, and I'll see you in the fora. | |

| Cheers everyone nice to be here Well as I said I've been out of gaming for quite a while, but when I played I was Ostlanders all the way (before the seperate rules came out I played themed Middenheimers), couldn't get enough of the special skills, drunkards, Taal spells, the general yokal-ness and of course the Ogre(!) I also did Marienburgers briefly but missed the 'taste' of Ostlanders, even the immitedly annoying rule of having to spend half your booty on one item had a certain enjoyment to it. Now returning I've decided, partly inspired by BTB's Cathay setting to move away from the Empire and do an Araby themed warband, just running around at the mo trying to find decent models and bits to represent them. I'm still up in the air on which warband rules to use for them, Marienburgers as their rich would be good to represent a sort of exotic mercantile expedition but I'm not sure, might go for a Sinbad corsair theme, or simply a hard-bitten mercenary band seeking fortunes. I was even tempted to do a Witch hunter based fanatical Jihadist thing (the faithful travelling across the globe to face Chaos at its heart) but frankly I'm not sure how that would go down with other gamers | |

The Noveaoux Riche rule has been removed in a newer edition of the Ostlander rules. The original pdf hasn't been updated though... I'm not even sure it's in the annual or the FAQ, but it's officially gone... Da Bank, help me out for a source here :p - Jape wrote:

You could just use a BTB-warband? Of course it depends on whether or not your gaming group would allow them, but they're all very well written and balanced afaik.

I'm not DABANK but I'll try to help anyhow. The revised Ostlanders were indeed never uploaded by Specialist Games. I think the revisions are not in the Rules Review, because - and here comes the good part - the warband was printed correctly in the Annual. The RR refers to the rulebook, the printed annual and the printed EiF. If you are interested in the Annual, it can be downloaded in the Tutorials sub-forum, by the way.
