Painting Journal - 2250pts of Vampire Counts

Well I have most of it still in plastic and I want to get it painted. As I see it, the best way to do this is to start up a journal so if I stop, I wont just be disappointing myself.

Here is what im trying to paint in 3 weeks (my holidays)

phase 1 (stuff I have currently)

40 zombies

20 grave guard

10 dire wolves

1 corpse cart

3 vampires

1 vargulf

Its going to be a got of work, but hopefuly I can manage the first part of my army.

The second phase of the journal will include the stuff I still have to buy;

12 crypt gouls

4 grave guard

10 dire wolves

40 skeleton warriors

1 vampire on zombie dragon (using the old "winged nightmare" model)

The scheme is based around purple. all the skeletons will have purple clothing/sheilds ect, vampires will have lots of purple clothing, gouls will have purple rags ect ect. The zombies will all be painted brown (as they are risen from the ground) and will have snow covering them in some parts (all my models are snow based).

Here is my army list for those who play WHFB. In Australia, our tournies arnt as hard core as the UK (you get shot for having the lector + 2 stanks over here) so It may be a tad soft compared to what you are used too.

Et tu Bretonnia?! Suspect

One of my pigeons [patrons] has me painting up three "armies" one of which is the "new" Living Impaired; they're quite nice minis although the assembly on the Grave Guard is a bit time consuming. They paint up REALLY nicely [note: if you are not put off by assembling in stages paint the mini & shield separately with the Skellies]. The Crypt Ghouls & the Vargulf are an absolute gas [or ghast Suspect

] to paint. I'll compare notes with you as we go along. I've got the $s to motivate me [mercenary old so&so].

Note: the eventual size of my pigeons units is somewhat larger than yours. If you'd like the Order of Battle, he's using I'll post it for you. Enjoy the project: "The journey of three thousand points begins with but a single mini." thumbsup

cheers guys, im picking up the paint for my zombies today. the plan is to paint them like Admin Tom did with his (cos they are so awsome). pics either today or tomorrow Smile
