THE TREE!

Well that didn't work. FEAR NOT TOM WILL FIX IT!
Soon you'l' have a couple of cool pics to marvel at if we can figure out what I screwed up THIS TIME! Suspect

Don't panic people, that's what we have an admin for *tears his shirt with both hands, revealing a skin tight superhero costume, sporting the letters "AT" on the chest*

Here are the pics Deaf had problems uploading:

What? Are you just teasing us with your lack of pictures? =]

Or have you succumbed to uploading invisible pictures?

I thinks the tree is only visibly to members of the DeafNala Fanclub, such as cianty, we humble mortals can't see it...

They probably rejected you on the "good taste" clause. I don't see how any of the members managed to show such an incredible lack of it. I'd never be seen in my company. Suspect

I won't use the "dark tree on a moonless night" line as an excuse for the pic failure. Soon Tom will figure out what I'm doing wrong &,thereby maintain his position as my hero. So soon [I hope].

Tom has the photo disc thingy so, eventually all wil be well.

Awesome work, DeafNala! I LOVE IT! Looks way better than the lousy trees I ordered. The shape looks so much more natural due to the wire construction. I think I'll try something similar once I run out of mine (which will be very soon). Can you tell me which flock you used?

Again, great work and thanks for sharing! cheers

THANKS [bows & smashes forehead into the keyboard].

@cianty: Hey I love those lousy trees, er, ahem.............you know what I mean. Actually that whole cool thread about your flora is the reason I took the photos of The Tree; ergo, YOU are the inspiration.
The flock is Woodland Scenics Dark Green with a pale green dry-brush [the dry-brush works better after a spray [matte] finish for some reason]. The tree foliage is Woodland Scenics Clump Foliage.

@ Ashton: The trunk is made from Floral Wire that comes wrapped in Raphia its called Naturally Wired [available at Michaels. The branches are twisted Floral Wire. I coated the tree with tacky glue & spinkled on sand for texture. I took a WIP photo of Tree #2 [now completed] that I'll send to Super Hero Tom when I have some more photos on the disc.

I have some more photos of the Uber Goblin [Orc]/ [Night] Goblin war -band I'm working on out there in the Internet ether that I'll try to post [fail & get Tom to rescue the situation] a bit later. Included in the next batch is a NighGoblin caravan piece which is cianty inspired.

THANKS FOR THE HELP, OH FEARLESS LEADER TOM! thumbsup

I love that you didn't notice that I wrote my post before Tom saved the day, ie. before the photos were even up. Thanks anyways! Actually I do like the tree. And it's freaking huge! Gotta love huge things.

Man, that looks awesome! Really nice job!
And who is this guy in front of the tree?

[EDIT= ok I looked at the pics again, this guy must be the famous "Dolch Rauber" (if I'm not wrong, that's what's written on the notice...?) ]

And as matt said, the only problem is the light on your pics. Oh, and maybe some close-ups of the leaves and the trunk would complete this masterpiece Smile

Well done!

Thanks for all the kind words. We're going to take the act on the road; we could be the next Marx brothers. Then again may be not. Suspect

@ Tortiou: the guy in front of the tree is one of the Stirlanders I'm doing for my friend & patron Justin [it's now in the Sipla collection]. This project entails the Stirlanders, a force of the Living impaired for the Vampire Counts, a Bretonnian army, & LOTS of suitable terrain including this tree & several more of varying sizes. The sign is a Google rendition of German:
Gesucht
Mack
die Dolch,
Rauber

[Wanted Mack the Knife (Dagger), Robber; Mac's the guy I made the Mordheim boards for]

The light was definitely a problem. Also, the Camera from HELL doesn't have a flash suppressor (?), SO I had to cover it with my finger: if I keep my finger too close, when the flash goes off everything goes red. affraid

Oh I see... we have a Louis Armstrong fan here Smile
Did you know that the original version was from Bertolt Brecht's "Dreigroschenoper" [Threepenny Opera] and the guy's called Mackie Messer in german...

(it's so funny to see cultural references in Mordheim, lol)

Thanks Axel. From the background artwork I've seen for WHFB, the inhabitants particularly those in the Empire put their hearts' beliefs on parchment & nail them [the parchment that is, not their hearts (usually)] to anything that doesn't object strenuously enough. In this case it's a sign to Stirfahre, which is one of the towns in the Sylvania/Stirlander Campaign I'm painting minis for. AND making the scrolls, signs, & stuff like that lets me make use of scrap materials, & generally keeps me out of trouble [mostly]. Suspect
