| that's lookng pretty impressivfe already.
i used to cut up icy pole sticks like you seem to have done to make boards, but i have since switched to balsa. I've managed to source sheets of it and precut planks which make it modelling so much easier.
make sure you texture and detail your bases too where they are large and protruding, they can bring so much more interest to your gaming boards. Street signs, crates and fences are excellent points of detail and the latter two can serve as cover.
terrific work so far |

| Found some nicely inspirational pics of some terrain a guy over on CMoN has put together.
Check them out
On the buildings base:
This building is purely for my small table here at the house. It won't be for use on a 'proper' mordheim table. Any buildings I do on that level will most likely still have a base of some type though so I can model things like sidewalks and accessory details. _________________ -Aaron

| Some more work done on my building:

Still some more little stuff to add to the front. But it's pretty much finished. I'll probably move on to the sides next. _________________ -Aaron

| VERY NICE!
I LOVE the window, & the shingles/tiles, nice piece of work. I haven't done much with making buildings for the last year, when I completed my Mordheim commission, so getting a few new ideas is a motivator to start on something new. Thanks for the push. Keep up the good work, AND post your work. |

| This looks really really good! I love the "makeshift" style of the building wich fits so well to my vision of Mordheim. Great job! _________________

| Very nice! As Cianty said, the "makeshift" style is really cool. It's not your square run of the mill buidling. It's got this little skew roof and the tiny narrow stairs stuck to its side... well done Grey I'll be watching this WIP with great interest. _________________

| Some more work done on the sides of the building. As well as a bit of additional detailing. Check it out:

| I hate you and your amazing balsa detailing skills. But I love you for sharing them
So you're okay in my book...
Great details btw. I love that windowsill type thing you made. Great idea. What do you cut your wood with, again? _________________ -Ashton Sanders -Mordheim in Montana Blog |

Well, I guess that about says it all. No, huh?
LOVE The wire/leaden glass window; they're pretty sturdy & would have a beter than average chance of surviving a Supernatural disaster [I knew someone who was thrown through one & survived...barely]. The shop sign is COOL! As is that little basement window.
GREAT WORK! It's fantastic to see what talent & imagination can produce. |

| Thanks for all of the replies folks. I'm sort of overwhelmed with the response ^_^.
As for cutting my balsa wood, I either use my hobby knife or a pair of clippers. Both are able to make a nice perpendicular cut. Although the clippers do bend the cut into itself making it a bit of a point.
Lots of work left to do on this still. A small roof job for the addition. A Roof! The back side needs final detailing. Basing. Detailing. And Finally, Painting. _________________ -Aaron

| Final side balsa detailed. Also added spackle (filler) to all of the open spaces between the wood framing. Some is smoothed out and detailed already some is still drying.
Here is a shot of final details on the newly finished side:

Added some basing material as well.
Next up: Roof _________________ -Aaron

| The cracks were cut in after the spackle/filler/plaster (depending on where you're from!) was dry.
I'm thinking I might go ahead and seal it all up with a light watered down pva glue to keep it from cracking for real ^_^. Just enough to hold it all together and give it some added strength. But not enough to obscure the details. _________________ -Aaron

| | good thinking with the spackle. what sort of mesh did you use for the windows? I've been unsure what to do for mine for ages, so i've left them as empty frames. You seem to have a good thing going with the mesh, consider it stolen. |

| thatirwinfella: The mesh is just from an old window screen that my dog ripped out x.x...I saved it and found a use for it soon after ^_-.
More WIP for the building:

And just for some fun:

The roof is going to be a pain. Lots of tiles to cut. But it's really capping everything off nicely so far. _________________ -Aaron

| WOW! That's a very different roof style, different in a good sort of way. As Ash said the chimney is really cool, very Dave Andrews in style with the bend & bracing look; LOVE IT! This is going to be spectacular once you paint it up. WELL DONE! |
