Soon Super Admin. Tom, Mighty Avatar of Blessed Sigmar, shall take the Great Hammer of Violent Persuasion & smite the Foul Hard Drive of Contrariness to bring forth the Images of Questionable Quality to enlighten the Masses as to the Nature of Night Goblin Kind.

While we're waiting for himself to run out of better things to do with his time, I'll fill you in on Wonders you are about to witness: this is the first of two war bands and will follow the "official" Orc & Goblin list with the Uber Goblins being "counts-as-Orcs".

The Uber Goblins are the product of genetic mutation caused by the consumption of a certain sub-species of Mad Cap Mushroom with a high concentration of Fungeroid. The side effect of this substance causes an increase in size, & muscle mass with a noticeable decrease in common sense, a rare quality in Night Goblins at best [as a banned substance it keeps them from participating in Professional sports such as Blood Bowl, & others that have no edged weapons as a silly rule] . Whereas Orcs generally choose leaders who are great, hulking, muscle bound psychopaths, Night Goblins choose UberGoblin leaders who are cunning, sneaky, drug-crazed, muscle bound psychopaths [in the background Gracy Slick wails out "White Rabbit"].

The four completed minis are the Troll, Dog Lip the Gourmet [ever practical the first mini I panted is the last mini the band of heros(?) will be able to afford Suspect ], next up is the Shaman, Mad-As-A-Loon Mugwhomp McGoon, seen with the last & certainly the least, the Tall Fellows [Big 'Uns], the McGrunge Brothers: Felinious & Nefarious. The rest of the guys are in the primed & ready to go stage with the Fearless Leader recognizeable by the back banner/lantern thingy which will bear the inscription: "Cogito Ergo Sum".

So READY OR NOT, HERE THEY COME eventually! Sleep

Wonderful work, DeafNala! I also like your old skool painting style. And the conversions are just hilarious. Pretty cool.

I wonder if the rest of the warband mistook some poisonous mushrooms for mad caps mushies and thus turned to stone? Suspect They look like the BTB Terra Cotta Soldiers. Very Happy

Well, I guess the Night Goblins should look stoned, although not quite THAT stoned. Actually that's my latest priming tech: a wash type coat of black with a white dry brush. It kind of gives me the bright effects of a white undercoat & the shading of a black, but mostly it makes it easier to see detailing on the mini.THIS IS A SECRET TECHNIQUE: DON'T TELL ANYONE. Suspect

THANKS ALL YOU GUYS FOR THE NICE COMMENTS. Positive feedback from one's peers is always a fine motivator. I don't think I'll ever be a truly great painter, but I do put out some pieces with a fair amount of character. It's helpful to remember when viewing my work that the greatest influence on the pieces was a lifetime's worth of exposure to Bugs Bunny cartoons. geek

Very nice deaf. I love 'em.

I also must say, I've spent a couple minutes every day thinking about your "secret technique," and after all my pondering, I must say: "FREAKING GREAT IDEA!" It highlights the high parts from the very beginning, and you can use one slightly wattered down color and start out with some great highlights.

Thanks for the idea. Bravo. (But I won't tell anyone else;))

AHA, you've found out the cunning plan; i.e., to lull would be opponents into a false sense of security. Of course, now I'm going to have to kill you; sorry about that. Suspect
