... using the Witch hunter rules Smile

The first few models are done; What do you think?

Pictures shows 2 Zealots and a 'witchhunter'...

I'm painting the next few models as we speak, I'll post the results later!

Thanks guys Smile

Yeah Tagnator has it right. The Zealots are bretonnian grail pilgrims with gor shields, and a looted bretonnian helmet. The witchhunter is from the new Empire warrior priest with some chaos, darkelf and empire flagellant bits.

... goes back to painting the rest of the characters Smile

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm not as familiar with modern GW models as I (might) should. Especially when it comes to such odd races as Bretonnians. Razz

Purrrrrdy. I love the use of those old Bretonnian Battle Pilgrims. I use them in my Graverobbers warband for Sylvania much to the same effect (although yours look like someone who cared painted them)

Excellent job man. Very well done!

Wow! Again, really really well done.

I like the sombre purple look you gave them.
Don't forget to post your warband in the gallery section once it's complete. It'll make a great addition to the already existing entries Smile

Thanks for sharing!

Tom: I will Smile Still got a few models to go though.

All of you: Thanks Smile I've read your praise quite a few times while painting today, and this is what I've come up with;

Got another two flagellants to go, a trio of dogs and perhaps a few hired swords Smile I'm gone builing on our mordheim table tonight, so the rest of the models will have to wait for tomorrow.

If you're wondiering how to achieve a certain effect / colour, just ask Smile

These convertions are looking really nice and the paint jobs amazing too. I think its quiet easy to go over the top with chaos when people convert them but yours look really gritty and realistic, just the way I like em!

Freaking beautiful. I love it. Great stuff. I love the colors scheme.

How much converting did you do with these models? (I'm also not very familiar with a lot of GW models.) They look great.

I see that you put some great dirt along the bottoms of the last two bunches of models. I will just comment: It doesn't look like the bottoms of the robes on the first three are very dirty.

Good job man,

These are so awesome - I love them. I especially like the first three that you posted. Gives me something to aspire to in my next lifetime. It'll probably take me that long to get there. Smile

Again, your praise almost makes me blush Smile

Ashton: Not an awful lot actually;

Zealots: Added shields, filed down some religious symbols
Flagellants: Cut the top of the flails and added various bits as great weapons.
Dogs: Straight from the box
Elf Ranger: Added GS hood, weaponswap on the bow
Warrior priest: Headjob, changed the shield, changed the weapon top and filed down / replaced some religious symbols
Witchhunters & captains: Carved away religious motives, replaced the arms (from the edge of the armour) on the ones who originally had double hammers, most of them got their heads replaced and all of their weapons are converted.

Thats mostly it! Only tiny amounts of GS and mostly head / weapons swaps and some filing.

You're right about the dirt, that has been fixed Smile Thanks.

dougbass68: Well, keep on trying Smile A few hints;

- Thin down your paints using water (I use old CD cases as palettes) and use some cloth to wipe your brush of.

- Make sure to leave enough of the previous layer showing. This took me years to realize and I'm still working on it. I make sure to leave some black edging almost every area I paint, and I'm really careful about having each previous layer showing.

Check the Elf Ranger out from the pictures below, and you'll see what I mean.

More pictures!

wholly nutz man not only are your models beautiful, you're freaking faster than lightning... almost.

How long did it take you to paint all of those?

So this looks like a chaos warband, but I thought zealots were in witch hunters. Which one is it? (I'm not familiar with either of these warbands.=])

keep up the good work.

It is a Witch hunter band on paper, and a chaos cult in practice Wink

I'm starting my new job on monday, so had a week off. I guess I spend about an hour / an hour 15 minutes on each of the models... I paint them batchwise so it's kind of hard to tell Smile

Excellent work. The purple has a very sinister quality to it.

The only flaws I could see were the poses of the witch hunter in the first pic, and the guy with the banner. They don't quite look natural, but having said that, that is GW's fault not yours.
