[Reference] The Watchtower - Mordheim Rules Index

The Watchtower is an extensive list of rules material for Mordheim. The listing is not restricted to official rules and contains everything that could be interesting for the players. The entries are classified using the grading system presented in the “Maintaining Law and Order” article (see Letters of the Damned issue 3). Note that scenarios are not included since this would go beyond the scope of this overview. For a detailed list of scenarios go to www.mordheimer.com. Further note that this list is, of course, by no means exhaustive. We will be adding new rules to the list bit by bit. You might also find this thread on the Specialist Games useful.

If you have any suggestions for worthy warband lists to add to the list, just post below. Note that you can still get all the official PDF files from the Mordheim Yahoo group. Alternatively check out the links to the Town Cryer downloads below.

Hm, I was thinking of the Sylvania setting of Brahm Tazoul (and the rest of the stuff he made...) With him being editor and playtester of the LoD content, I suppose he balanced the rules on his website thoughtfully, too, and could probably be published here?

Further, I was wondering if there is a compilation of links to some major archives of fan created rules and warbands (eg. Mordheimers page, or BrahmsBook, or StrikeToStun), and if not, whether this should be included here.

But above all, this is really a usefull compilation, especially as it give links to all the sources of the conten displayed.

Actually the mordheimer stuff is next on my list and then strike-to-stun. I don't know about Brahm's Sylvania setting. I thought he was about to (re-)release that so there may be updated versions on their way. I might just ask him. I should anyhow, and ask what's up with LOD.

Note that the Specialist Games site is down. If you cannot find a certain file from other sources (like this thread with the town cryers and annual) go to the Mordheim Yahoo group. Every file is stored in the file section there.

Having had a look through this again, it seems that there is no key to the grading system. While I read the article you wrote on it, I suppose a lot of people didn't so they might get a little confused or don't know what each grade means.

EDIT: I just noted that you are pointing out your aticle for more details on the grading system. Still, perhaps the meaning (reliable, experimental, etc.) could be posted in this thread as well so it's easier to look up.

1 is the "professional"/GW area: 1a=official 1b=unofficial 1c=experimental
2=reliable (created and tested by fans)
3=draft (written down clearly)

Which equipment is 1a? The one from the rulebook of course.
I also think that equipment appearing in EIF and MHA is also 1a. is this true?

I wonder if the skills that appear on MHA page 87 are also 1a, because they seem a bit overpowered specially 'Tactician' and 'Hunch'.

I just want to know the 'official' answer to this.

The answer to all your questions is "yes". 1a = official rules and the rulebook, annual and EIF are all official (minus the Shadow warriors, plus a few HS and DP...).

I don't think the mentioned skills are really overpowered.. Why? Because in our group we are all aware of them and no one ever took any of them. Why? Because those who can (models with access to Academic skills) are either
a) Spellcasters, who have tons of other (better!) skills (and spells) to choose from
b) the normal "kick-ass" type of warband leader who also has access to Strength and Combat (and maybe special) skills and will always want to choose from those.

That are just my thoughts. Let's not derail this thread by discussing the skills though. There is the Rules section for that.

So I may be blind but I can't find the info from fanatic magazines anywhere besides FO issues 90+. Anyone know where to look? (Not on torrents or mordheimer)

Hey everyone, first post on here:

I've been collecting any and all mordheim resources I can on my computer. Over on tabletopgeeks.com they've got a complete collection of Town Cryer and Letters of the Damned PDF's.

However, they don't have the fanatic magazines featuring mordheim articles. What content was in the fanatic magazines? I've also downloaded some of the alternative settings from tabletopgeeks.com which included the moot, Reikland, Averland etc. and was unsure of their origins. Were they originally published in Fanatic?
