PostSubject: Tom's Wyrdstone Inventor (NPC)   Thu 15 Nov 2007 - 19:54

Hi guys!

There is a special non player character for Mordheim called the "Wyrdstone Inventor" created by Carl Walmsley.

It is a mad genius, who creates magical curiosities and artefacts based on the power of Wyrdstones. He apathetically wanders around in the streets of Mordheim and sells his inventions for a juicy price.

I liked the idea, so I wanted to build my own model for our mordheim games.
The model turned out to my satisfaction, but the thruth is we haven't used it in our games yet... Very Happy

So beautiful...

But I have to agree that some of the items are somewhat broken. But I like the idea in general.

Yeah, I agree with you guys. The rules aren't very convincing. I guess that's why we never actually used that guy in our games...

However it was the idea that appealed to me and my fingers were itching to build something new. That's why I made this model. Very Happy

@ Tortiou: The little goblin's name is Gaagl, named after his grandfather.

Gaagl ?
affraid
THE Gaagl ??

The one that participated at the Battle of Mount Gruulhu ? I think his grandfather was still alive back then, he was the personal slave of Ork Kommander Dha Buuz (son of Grez Buuz). Maybe Gaagl and Gaagl Jr. were both under his orders...

Anyway, I wonder how he survived the battle and how he met his new master (the wyrdstone inventor).

Suspect

Yes yes, that's him!

He did actually serve under Dha Buuz, but was made prisoner by the victorious dwarf army of the mountain king Grôh Larh. He then served as a cart pusher in the mines of Morijuana for many years until he managed to escape by hiding inside a dwarf maiden's breast armour. He managed to make his way to the town of Altoberstunkenheim, where he clandestinely worked in an imperial soap factory. He was paid in peanuts and had to sleep in a bucket, so he decided to seek his luck someplace else. He eventually stumbled into Mordheim where he met his actual master and has been working for him ever since.

But it is rumored that he isn't very happy with that job either. Some say he's planing on doing an MBA at Chaumes-Quenelle-Sainte-Mère-la-Chapelle-sur-Fleuve in Bretonnia.

Do you know what he is up to these days, Tortiou?

Oh I haven't heard from him for a long time... last time he spoke to me on MordSkype, he told me he also applied for Royal Warhammay - University of Sigmar, I think it's in the Mordchestershire. I sincerely doubt he will meet the requirements for this university, as well as for the MBA in Chaumes-Quenelle-Sainte-Mère-la-Chapelle-sur-Fleuve.
Yeah I think he's fed up with that wyrdstone inventor. He keeps pushing that cart full of glowing wyrdstones all day long, and is treated like sh** by his master. Some rumors say his master even abused him, but that's none of our concern (cela ne nous... regaaarde pas).

Captain Tortiou told me yesterday that Gaagl was interested in joining the Pinky Orks warband, as a Barbie Goblin (BS +2 when throwing chocolate mousse)... but the entry test is quite hard: to join the lady orks, he has to know the story of every single episode of "sex and the mordheim city" since 2004. That's pretty hard when you're not a girl.

Anyway, if you guys have some news about our friend Gaagl, tell us!

PostSubject: YET MORE MADNESS, RIGHT ON!   Tue 15 Apr 2008 - 21:14

That is one totally unique, highly imaginative, very well executed piece. It's a perfect example of the craziness that attracts moi to Mordheim in general & this site in particular. It's the kind of thing that fuels my imagination & sends me off making strange little thingys instead of working on the mindless commissions that bring in bucks that are foolishly spent on silly things like food & keeping a roof over my head; love it.

Tom, I think you are certifiably nuts; in other words a kindred spirit. Thanks for the inspiration, amigo.

I don't know how I missed commenting on this piece.

Great model, great story, and keep us posted on how he does on whatever he chooses to do in life.

Great inspiration.

PostSubject: Tom's [Amazing] Wyrdstone Inventor   Wed 16 Apr 2008 - 10:24

This little guy really opened up a whole new line of madness for moi. He's providing me with the necessary link to bring Mordheim into Steam Punkdom. I spent yesterday happily sketching, making notes, going through my parts boxes [if there's one thing doing this stuff for a LOT of years yields it's a LOT of extra biits & bob], & generally having a wonderfully esoteric day.

And it's All your fault, Tom. Thanks again for the inspiration/motivation.
