Hi!

Time to show you another of my warbands, the Undead.

They are not my most beautiful models, but I just love the zombies models Smile The idea I had in mind when building this warband was a sea of corpses, stumbling around. Kind of a "Night of the Living Dead" thing... so there are the compulsory Heroes and the rest are ONLY zombies. Fifteen to be exact. I painted this warband really quickly - being rather exhausted from painting 5 other warbands before that, I hurried to finish this one... I know, I know, one should NEVER rush through a paintjob. Nevertheless I think the result is not THAT bad.

Let me know what you guys think! cherry

A custom made Pariah (GW only does 2 different models, I needed a third)

The crawling zombie: a classic.

Tom ...if you even consider this band as anything that could go in the same sentence as "bad" ...then serious risk of shaming me into never daring to show any pics of my own achievements .... silent

Your models are freaking a freaking beauty to behold ! king

Wow beautiful warband! The sister of sigmar zombie is great - your converted Pariah too!

And don't say the paintjob is bad, I think it's really beautiful! I doubt I'll ever paint this good.

[edit] I hope you'll post your skavens soon. I can't find any good pics of it in your blog. Sad

Haha! Smile No problem Zero!

Zombies:

The skin:
"Uniforme Inglés" (Vallejo Paints) as a base (the equivalent in GW would be Snakebite Leather)
Drybrushed in 3-4 steps adding "Rotting Flesh" up to pure "Rotting Flesh"

The red parts I did with "Red Gore" I think, that I mixed with "Chaos Black". I went up tp pure red gore and highlighted a little bit with a mix of Red Gore + Blood Red

The "brown" leather parts:
Vallejo again: Tierra mate/Uniforme Inglés/Arena Oscura
(or, for GW paint users: Scorched Brown/Snakebite leather/Bleached Bone)
I made mixes thereof of course (i did NOT use pure bleached bone)

For the guts:
Just brush like the skin parts, but then wash heavily with "chestnut ink". I also put some inside their mouths to simulate this disgusting blood-laden drool that usually comes out of zombies in cheesy horror movies Rolling Eyes

I hope that helps! Let us see how your undead turn out! cyclops

Cheers and good luck!
Tom

No problem. Just ask for anything you want to know in the "painting and modelling" section and I promise you will be swamped in replies Wink

Doesn't that vampiress look like Amy Lee from Evanescence (hair pulled back, of course)? Very Happy

Well done, mate. Looks like a fun warband to play with, and you did a nice job with the paint and coversions. Hopefully you get to say "BRAAAAINS" a lot with them! Yeah, that's pretty cliche! My favorites have to be the Sister of Sigmar and the archer. Very nice work. The Sister has the right "broken" and rotted look to her.

Yum!

I do like the work on the houses in the background. WOW. Beautiful stuff, mate. I think the pics down the streets and alleyways and in the upper levels are darn good. Great work on the terrain....I am getting in the mood for some modeling! I just need to end running my online campaign first.

This is one very very sweet looking warband! Well done mate. I love that converted Dreg.

@Thomas: I was thinking of actually converting some kind of Dreg on Warhorse. However I'm not too sure as to what models I should use for the conversion.. Any ideas?

Cheers ~ Steve

I think most mounted figures would work, using some parts similar to those which Tom used for his dreg with bow - so Skaven torso, but on some plain legs, or even the spread mercenary legs, then the docile looking severed head from the zombie sprue (my favourite!) and then any arms that would fit and a little sculpting to join stuff Smile

Tom, your warband looks great, I especially like the fact they have a uniform of sorts, too many warbands end up looking like they aren't on the same side!
