| Hello! I'm fairly new here and just recently introduced myself in the "Welcome Newbies!" section. I included some pictures of my painted warbands. Several folks there suggested I start a thread here with those pictures so here we go...
First off, let me say that I am only now learning how to take pictures of my minis with my digital camera. My first set of shots didn't turn out too great - mainly they are too dark. I'll try again over the coming days and see what I can do to improve them.
With that in mind, here are some pictures. I'll start with my Beastmen Raiders warband.
Here's the whole warband

Minotaur

Centigor

Shaman

War Chief

Gor Hero with Two Axes

Gor Hero with Halberd

Ungors with Spears and Shields

I don't make any claim to being a great painter, but I am usually able to produce reasonable looking resutls fairly quickly. Like I said - I'll try to take some better pictures and post again.
thanks! ironbull |

| Next are some pictures of my Possessed warband.
These are just enough to start a 500 point warband. I have three archers on the table that are built and primed - just need to be painted.
I built a Possessed warband immediately when Mordheim first came out. I don't recall how long it was before the "official" minis were released, but I do remember they didn't come out at the same time as the boxed set. As a result, I kinda' slapped my own warband together. I've since stopped playing that warband and decided I want to re-build a Possessed warband, but I didn't want to use the GW "official" minis for it - hence the minis you see below...
MAGISTER

MUTANT with SNAKE ARM

THREE-ARMED MUTANT

CLUBBY the POSSESSED

PINCHY the POSSESSED

| Very good job Ironbull!
I like your palette a lot (it's kind of similar to mine, but that has - of course - nothing to do with the fact that I like it... I swear )
Especially the Beastmen are very nicely painted. Thanks for sharing! And don't worry about the pics, they are really OK.
Hint: Do not use your flash. Try to achieve a good, warm and sufficient lighting with a lamp (ideally 2 lamps, each at about 45° above the mini). And activate the "macro" (= "flower") mode on your digicam (which you did I think). _________________

| The lads look just as cool as they did in the Newbie section [what a rush, man]. Here they'll get the attenton they deserve. Again, WELL DONE!
Photo Hint: until you are satisfied with your pics claim your camera is Demonically Possessed. It's my excuse, but I'll share. |

| You know, I love Beastmen. I love them. I started Warhammer playing Beastmen and I just love them to death. So I naturally like yours a lot too! But they are in fact very nicely painted. Very clean paint job. Like them a lot!
Your Possessed warband is very original. The faces are painted very very well (way better than what I could do) and the Possessed conversions are just cool! It's great when you're able to tell from the miniatures that someone put a lot of work and heart into creating them.

| I looooooooooove your centigor, of course, others are well painted, but he has a pretty cool face, in mood for battle and blood My minis are not as well done as yours, but if you have one domain to improve, it's on the basis, they could be more realistic in my opinion ! _________________ "And if Sigmar was just a myth.?." |

Thank you! The Beastmen warband was one of my early attempts at using that Future Floor Finish technique. IIRC, I used Future and some Vallejo brown paint - "Smoke" I think is the color, but I could have that wrong. Anyway, I thought it turned out fairly well and those minis were well suited to it.
The Possessed were my favorite warband from the day Mordheim was released. In fact, that was the first warband I ever played in a real campaign.
Anyway, thanks for the kind comments.

Yea, I agree. I've never really done all that much with the bases of any of my minis. I've tried different things over the years and never really got that excited about anything. I'm starting work on a second Sisters warband for my daughter. Maybe I can come up with some ideas for the bases in that warband and trying to improve those a notch or two.
Thing is, whatever I do I'll have to be able to crank it out in a couple minutes. Got any suggestions?

| When I want to make an earthy/sandy ground I use a similar flock combination as Ashton. However I mix the gravel with the sand in one bowl and then dip the base in it. That gives you a natural "randomness" of the stones on the base and you don't have to "sprinkle" them. _________________

You have inspired me to start with a full compliment of heroes in my next possessed warband! Crazy? Yes! But if you can do it so can I!
Also, I love the old old GW ogres, they are so varied, with interesting details that really fit mordheim! |

Same here,..Oh wait. I AM Home. Cool, I can start on this stuff now. What a concept!
VERY NICE STUFF IRONBULL! I've got a trio of Witches by Reaper that would really go quite nicely in Mordheim. It's time to go through the Vaults of Pack Ratdom & see what might work. Thanks for the push. |

| They indeed look great! It's also great to see some old models.
Now you still do need to give them proper bases. _________________

| LOL @ the dwarf with bretonnian helmet (or at least what looks like a bretonnian helmet).
I really like these old miniatures. They might not be as spectacular as the newer ones, but I think they somehow exhale more character.
Good work Ironbull and thanks for sharing _________________

| Thanks guys.
Regarding the bases, I don't know what to do with them yet. I'll come up wth something eventually.
I've got a ton of those old GW/Marauder dwarfs that a friend gave me. I just love those silly things. |

| COOL! Not just some very nicely done up minis, but a trip down Memory Lane [what a rush, man!]. One of the old Citadel Dwarves I remember was a Dwarf with an impossibly long moustache holding a hammer; on his helmet was a Dwarf with n impossibly long moustache holding a hammer; etc.; etc.. Even now, just thinking about that little sucker, gets a chuckle. Thanks for the post. |
