| By request I present pictures of the Tilean Merchant Caravan warband I have been playing for quite a while now. Beware: I am not nearly as professional a painter as some of the other fine folks around here.
The warband in its entirety.

I am using the Mordheim Stage Coach as a Trade Cart. However, I built a real trade wagon and its load.

The Merchant is made from Empire models:

Merchant version2

The merchant hires only the best of warriors. Besides Tilean Marksmen and Pikeneers this includes Cathayan Swordsmen:

The Merchant also hires Cathayan Ronins. Expert warriors who have nothing to lose...

| Great idea and great models!
I think they look really good, the beige is great in my opinion. And I love converted models
When I saw the second merchant on your web site, I decided to take the same model as a character in a campaign with (hopefully ) a lot of background. I added a small bag with money in his right, half open hand, and an extra feather for a wealthy look.
So thanks for the inspiration
Edit: Cool I got a Pegasus as emblem! |

| Yes GRAET looking band ...and even GREATER idea ...and yes I too am in awe of the people of have the imagination and talent to create wonderful conversions !
ps. I just finished painting my last dwarf today ...so now I either need to get some new batteries so I can take some shoots and show them to you guys ...OR buy some more dwarfs so as to keep having the excuse that my band isnt finished yet (I only have 7 models...and my band currently runs at 12...+ a HS) _________________ He who gathers money little by little makes it grow. - Proverbs 13:11 (Dwarven Treasure Hunters)

| Hehe, that is a problem, Boehm
But you remind me that I have to get some batteries, too, for showing you all the stuff I've made in the last few days(well, it's not very much but anyway). |

| Thanks for the kind words! I really love playing this warband (although I tend to lose way every time with them, because my trade cart just keeps crashing). I did put effort into the Ronin models. But I was a bit lazy when doing the unarmed merchant. I was actually considering to put the money (or whatever) bag from (I don't know which, Goblins maybe?) Warhammer sprue into his hand but I don't know why I didn't eventually.
I have to say that humans (and similar races) are the most difficult to paint models. I am very satisfied with the beastmen models I paint but I find humans (faces!) incredibly hard to do. _________________

| Hmm, I rarely paint other races than human(-oides), elves or dwarfs, so I can't tell whether they're more difficult to paint than other races.
I think the first ronin is really cool, with his footwear. What head did you use for the second one? |

| Hi Cianty!
I just LOVE your warband! And I do appreciate a player who is into the game for beautiful miniatures and "fluff" - just like me.
And your painting is very good too. I strongly disagree with you when you say that you are not a good painter. You might use fewer shades than others, but what you lose in shading you make up for in neatness and conversion skill.
10/10 from me for that extraordinary work, and a big, loud "THANK YOU" for sharing!
C'mon guys, make some noise for our friend Cianty here! |

| LOL. *BLUSH* Thanks a lot, Tom! You are too kind. And, yeah, I absolutely love the warband even if it fails me at times. I always thought that a merchant warband is something great to have in Mordheim. I never liked that warbands were not allowed to exchange items and trade so I made this warband to add a big feature to the game.
p.s. if you care for the rules of the warband have a look at www.bordertownburning.de.vu and go to the warbands section. _________________

| Oh, I was so emotional about Tom's reply that I forgot to answer your question, Erkwin. Both ronins (and cathayan soldiers) are made from from Kislev archers.

The 1st ronin was a pain to do because I had to rasp off the entire chest in order to seperate the head from the body. It was driving me nuts... _________________

| Erkwin is correct as always (well, almost always ). I saw the terrain piece on ebay and couldn't resist. Haven't seen it anywhere else, though.
Thank you guys for the kind words. _________________
