Long long overdue I finally forced myself to paint the LGT warrior monk. I will be using him this sunday so that was good motivation.

PS: I think the model looks better in daylight and in reality. Anyways, let me know what you think.

He came out great. I really love the highlights on the robe.

Man, I really need to get some static grass... The base looks great too =]

Wow, I feel hardcore stupid for not swithing on the light I had attached to the table specifically for painting and, well... taking photos. Here's a better shot.

What was wrong with the first 2 pics? I thought they were brilliant...

Anyway: very nice Cianty! Good job: neat painting, good choice of colour thumbsup

I think you can tell easily when you compare the two pics. The colour in the first one is quite bad and due to the darker light when taking the photo I had to do more adjustments which is always bad for the quality. The second one has way better natural light which makes the mini look more like it does in reality. And the overall quality of the photos is way better. I think the model looks much cleaner in the second.

With the current light configuration I found the photos turning out quite well so I took a couple of shots of various models and the warband as a whole.

Very good pics. I always find the hardest part is positioning the models in such a way that you can see them all and their details... always takes me much longer than the actual posting.

I gotta say, I havn't commented (or have I?) yet on this topic but all those conversions are fantastic - that elf wizard conversion is my favorite! The lighting is mush better in the later pictures on this page.

So all of a sudden I am in need of another warrior monk, equipped with chain sticks (you probably know them as "nunchakus") and so I made one.

Since this is my fourth warrior monk henchman I'll also do a fifth to complement this henchman type which is restricted to 0-5 anyways. I am now pondering how to equip this last monk... I could give him a spear, a "fish-hook shot" or just make him truly unarmed with some fighting pose. Any wishes, ideas or thoughts, my friends?

Hahah, that is an awesome pose. Great work. Maybe you could do those "bendy" spears from crouching tiger, hidden dragon Wink

I really like your warband so far. I haven't dug too deeply into the thread just yet though.

Your latest addition definitely fits the bill.

And it's given me some inspiration to go ahead and snag up a box of skaven and a grip of GS and see what comes out the other end....

More to come from me as I backtrack all of these threads ^_^!

You really captured a sense of movement & flow. That is a beautifully positioned mini. As always EXCELLENT PIECE OF WORK! thumbsup

How about one of those HUMONGOUS executioner's swords & do the last guy up in black?

lol!

I eventually decided to make the last warrior monk fight unarmed (mostly because I do let them fight unarmed most of the time).

However, for this last model I wanted to make it special and give it an especially dynamic pose. I decided for two different torso-leg parts of the Empire flagellants and removed the left leg of the first and took another left leg from the other.

Next step will be gluing the leg to the body and then filling gaps with Green Stuff. This model will take the longest of all the warrior monk henchmen but I think - well, I hope! - that the result will pay off.

Unfortunately my superglue was so super that it glued the lid and I had to cut it open. I used the rest on the previous monk (see above) and now I need to get some new one, so that is why I present you with this sorry-ass WIP shot.

Alright, that's it for today. Good night!

The conversion work on warrior monk #4, the super monk, has been finished.

Before I present the final model here's another shot to show how I glued the various pieces of the flagelants' bodies together to get the pose that I wanted. This one would become the most dynamic martial artist of them all.

There were pretty huge gaps that had to be filled with Green Stuff. In addition I wanted to give him a belt and a bag to emphasize the movement.

Alright, enough foreplay. Click on the "spoiler" to see the model. Enjoy & comment.

OH BABY, THAT ROCKS! thumbsup
That is definitely the coolest piece of all the cool pieces you've done so far. The positioning, & the sese of fluid motion you acheived is superb; everything flows; this is just an incredibly well done piece of conversion work. BRAVO,, ENCORE! cheers

Thanks, Deaf!

I created a 3D gallery for Mr. Super Monk. I think the pose warrants an all around look of the model.

What a very cool presentation; I lOVE the 3-D [I didn't need those silly card board glasses either Suspect ] & the spoiler thingy. It really enhances the figure(s). Are you sure you couldn't move in nextdoor? Sad
