The orc Model is superb!!!

To reduce the size download IrfanView or just create and account with Picnik and edit the pic with those.

Cheers

Thanks for the compliments!

The orc is a normal black orc, but ive used the standardbearers arm, chopped of the banner top, and made it into a two-handed mace. Got the idea from a guy at the warhammer forum. I also made a lantern on a stick by chopping of some spears and adding some greenstuff

Very nice paintjob!

Although you use a very dark palette, I think you have a good colour choice. Maybe a little more contrast on the orc's skin couldn't hurt though.

Your possessed are amazing. The dark, blood sprinkled magister just nails it imo. You have managed to give your possessed a really dark and disturbing look. Hats off and thanks for sharing.

PS: Please reduce the size of your pics ASAP! You can use irfanview as Hellfoot suggested. Thanks

Neto. I really like how you made the dark skins for your orcs. I'm trying to highlight my Big 'Uns and Warboss as Black orcs, but I haven't like the way I highlighted mine. You seem to have highlighted them the way I want to highlight mine. Mind sharing what you used? Bleached Bone and Catchacan Green, perhaps?

Wow. Love the Possessed and the blood; how'd he get the splatter to stay where it looks good instead of running down into the crevesses like it always does for me when I try that!

So true. The possessed are really really horrifying. Awesome job!

I like the Orcs as well. They look damn good, too.

Thanks for sharing.

For the normal orcs I have used a basecoat of black, then catachan green. After that some lining of the muscles with camo green followed by camo green/skull white for a final highlight. For the black orcs (such as the one shown) I add in some black in each step for a darker touch. I also finish up all the skin by glazing them with a mix of catachan green, water and some dish soap. Makes the highlights a bit more subtile and much smoother.

The bloodsplatter on the possessed is made up from a mix of red ink/purple ink/black ink. Load the brush up with the mix and then slam the brush shaft towards the table edge, with the model lieing on the table. Then the squirts hit the model and it will look like a mess Smile

Very Interesting. Is there a reason you didn't use the toothbrush method? I've never heard of this pencil method. Is it better?

Thanks

I think with "pensel" our friend barrskog meant "brush". The swedish word for brush is "pensel" (witch sounds close to the german word "Pinsel"). I suppose this is what Barrskog meant: he uses a brush, not a "pencil" Smile
Correct me if I am wrong Barrskog.

I've tried flicking the brush with my finger as Hellfoot illustrated, however I've used paint and inks, and they all run from where they land; they don't stick. Is there something you use to thicken your paints/inks, or what?

Mix the inks and the paints that you want and then add a little bit of PVA glue...I suggest using an old Toothbrush or some kind of ruff Brush like a common cheap flat brush.

I hope that helps,

Be careful with the PVA glue, i found out that some colors slightly change while drying if combined with pva glue. change is minimal but can screw up your painting.

thats why you should keep a damaged or useless model next to you

I dont use anything to thicken the mix, I would guess you just have the model to close or have too much paint of the brush when you squirt it off. Either way, too much paint must be hittin the model which makes the paint not stick.

Try either to take less paint on the brush or move the model away a bit. I wouldnt bother with PVA glue, it shouldnt be needed.

fantastic...CUNNIN' PLAN!!!!!!!

Is it from Black Adder?
Do you love The "Black Adder"- series as much as I do?

(Blackadder: Baldrick, I have a very, very, very cunning plan.
Baldrick: Is it as cunning as a fox what used to be professor of cunning at Oxford University, but has moved on, and is now working for the UN at the high commission of international cunning planning?
Blackadder: Yes, it is.
Baldrick: Mm... That's cunning! )

And by the way: AWESOME miniatures!

I just tried your technik, barrskog, and what can I say- wonderful!

I painted a chaos barbarian and although have the paint hit my hands and my face, I'm still glad about the result.
I'll post a picture in the painting section.
