| Just found this image in the Mordheim entry @ wikipedia.com. Anyone recognize the three scenery pieces in there?

Great job, A.! _________________

lol No, I uploaded the image to the wiki. I only wish I had some humans instead of Orcs, since the "normal" Mordheim warbands are "humans and skaven"... I tried to summarize Mordheim in one picture. _________________ -Ashton Sanders -Mordheim in Montana Blog |

| Funny thing I noticed is that someone inserted "Black Dwarfs" into the unofficial warbands list. I'm fairly sure that this expression was coined by Stu (Werekin) so I assume the entry does relate to the BTB Chaos Dwarf list. Wonder who did that... _________________

| Haha, yea I had white dice in there, but they were getting too washed out. The wooden ones worked out perfectly

No to go too off topic, but Oh do I loath Wikipedia... <off topic> <rant> Wikipedia is practically "opinion of internet users" which works fine until you realize that the general populace MAY BE WRONG... For a horrible example, let's say the year is 1400... The entry on earth would have a beautifully drawn FLAT earth.. and when a couple actual scientists come one to try to prove their findings that the world is round... they get chewed up and banned for vandalism... So Wikipedia really is just a poll of the opinions of Internet users... with references to other places on the bathroom wall (the internet)... </rant> sorry... couldn't help myself. </off topic> _________________ -Ashton Sanders -Mordheim in Montana Blog |

| <offtopic> You may be somewhat right, Ashton, but only to a certain extent. There are lots of topics where only a minority is educated at and it's those people who will write the articles and thus help those who don't know anything about the topic. The problem is rather the potential for abuse by these minority and selected groups. In 1400 a peasant wouldn't be even able to write down the hearsay knowledge he has and even if he did it would be totally okay because it was commonly accepted knowledge. You do want to find all the generally accepted facts in an encyclopedia after all, don't you? The problem you describe would be a minority (super small minority) amongst the scientists who were abusing wikipedia to spread their "false" theories. And it would be in fact good if this knowledge would not be put in wiki those days. Because back then the common man who checked wiki for what the earth looks like would then get the generally accepted knowledge of those days. If you are interested in uncommon theories of what's going on (both back then and nowadays) you will need to make further research because an encyclopedia (and that's what wiki is - it's not the chalice of truth) cites the common knowledge of the time. If you are applying such an outer view then I'd say the flatness of the earth was the truth back then and thus would have been rightfully documented in a medieval wikipedia for the sake of educating the common man. </offtopic> _________________

| Ok, I'll just quickly join the dance because I think the Wiki rant that Ash brought up is interesting.
<offtopic>
I see your point Ash, but I agree with Cianty. Wiki is an encyclopedia and thus an attempt at compiling all knowledge currently considered as well established. If you looked up, say "spleen" in the very first "Encyclopédie" by Diderot & D'Alembert from the 18th century, you would probably still find a whole paragraph on the humoral theory (i.e. body fluids ratios being responsible for your mood). At that time this would count as commonly accepted. Or if you looked up "Aether" in an encyclopedia of the 19th century, you'd probably learn that apparently aether is some sort of intangible physical entity that floats around us, rather than reading something about space-time and the relativity theory.
But apart from that I am a big fan of Wikipedia. Sure there is the potential for some people to "sell their bullishit" but to be honest I am amazed at how well the Wiki project works on a volountary basis.
I consider it an excellent source if you want to quickyl check on the history of a country for example. Or if you need a chemical formula, if you want to know what a certain disease is, if you want to get a rough understanding for a certain philosophical concept or if you want know what "Javascript" is
So within reason, and with a little bit of common sense, I think WIkipedia is very reliable.
Thank you for your time
PS: And let's not forget that since WIki is public, millions of people are "proofreading" it. If a text seems highly unplausible or plain wrong, you can be sure there will be some nerd that will go and correct it... I know that, because sometimes I go into nerd mode </offtopic> _________________

Amen to both of these sentences.

Big amen. I've spent entire nights reading though wikipedia articles, jumping from one article to the next. I learned so very much from that. Thanks, W! _________________
