I was asking myself this, How did you all started playing Mordheim Very Happy

?

I was watching Specialist-games.com and saw Mordheim, It was intresting and looked at Youtube for some video's. I saw a couple of Admin Tom's video''s. I e-mailed him on youtube, if he could give me some tips to make a Board like that, since then I'm in for Mordheim Very Happy

Hmmmm... good question. I went into a GW store in 1999 and they had this amazing city scenery board. I played a demo game with a friend of this new game called "mordheim" and I really liked it. So I bought the starter box. :bom:

I've watched Admin Tom's Mordheim Movie thousand times a day, and finaly decided to start Mordheim too =D

Some summerday, I think it was. Long time ago... well actually two or three years, not that long Wink

I played WHFB against a Dogs of War- Player and asked him about one of his units of duellists, as they had a different colour-sheme.
He told a little bit about Mordheim and his warband, I knew about it, but I had never thought about actually playing.
So that's when I got interested in the City of the Damned Smile

Well, I've been playing Warhamer Fantasy and read about Mordheim in the White Dwarf prior to its release. When it did came out I immediately bought the box and never looked back at Warhammer ever since.

I used to collect Fantasy, and 40k back in the day, and got heavily into Mordheim from the first announcement in White Dwarf... however, education and business ties mean that I've been out-of-the-loop for a while now, but I've picked the game back up over the past 6 months, and well... here I am!

I think what drew me to Mordheim initially was the whole 'personalisation' that can be performed with the game. Fantasy and 40k are played-out with large armies of troops, on large green spaces... whereas in Mordheim, you have a handful of troops, so you get to spend more time developing them, and creating them. Also, for the battlefield, everyone has their own take on what the streets of Mordheim should look like... all gaining ideas and inspiration from each other...

Well, I was quietly living my life like a normal person when suddenly, Admin Tom arrived with his mad ideas about "building a city" and "playing with miniatures"... I just shook my head and thought "WTF??" and then I laughed at him, haha, Tom you're a fool, you're still a kid, you want to play playmobil with dice, and so on...
But then, one day, I went to his home and I saw... I saw the Truth... I saw my Destiny... I saw Mordheim. (tadaa)
So Tom managed to "brainwash" me and I finally bought a Mercenary sprue (after borrowing Tom's Reiklander for a while) ... he painted approximately 60-70% of my warband Very Happy

and organised the whole campaigns and scenarios, and now I'm in!

So if one day you need your grandma to believe that Santa Clause still exists, call Admin Tom!!

I got started with Mordheim a few months after the boxed game was released. I'd started playing 40k #rd, really wanted to play something fantasy oriented but was advised to stay away from fantasy until the new edition came out.

Got Mordheim and had a great time with it.

well i was at my local gaming store cleaning some dwarf models and a guy next to me had 7 very cool and unique models. i asked the what they were and he told me it was his warband for mordheim. afterwards he invited me to watch him as he played against another player and i got interested.

I had a geek buddy in highschool who spent thousands of dollars on these models, and one day, he had us all over, and just got us started on it. We started going to Games Workshop (in the Glendale Galleria) on Fridays for a champaign.

We had a group of 6 friends or so who played for a couple months... Good times right there... Then we all moved away (or grew up), and now I'm in Montana, putting together a board/landscape hoping that someone will want to play lol.

i'd been playing 40k for a few months, more out of desperation for some form of gaming v(I'm a roleplayer and fantasy buff at heart). No one wanted to try WHFB, and the local GW junkies said to wait for the new edition of WHFB before buying anything. I was in a store looking at the GW stuff when I saw Mordheim. Low model count, cool scenery, comparatively good price-to-value ratio, I'll bite! I brought the game back to a local game shop and our store Mordheim campaign war born.

We used to play Gorkamorka a lot because we like orks. Then we played necromunda because we already had a lot of the terrain and one guy kept building more and more terrain for cities. When mordheim came out we were really excited to finally play necromunda with fantasy miniatures. Turns out mordheim is way better. Since we got those 2 rooms full of sci-fi terrain we also play kill-team with some mordheim rules.

.. I used to play Killteams to, but I quited the whole Warhammer 40k for one reason, to much painting.. I like Mordheim much more because of the idea. More exciting rules and stuff Very Happy

A mate that played WHFB in our group introduced us to Mordheim. I guess we liked the idea of being able to buy a new warband for $50AUD if we got bored with the one we were playing. After a few games we were all addicted.

saw it in a white dwarf when it was first released and my friend brought the box set so it went from there. then i stoped for about 3-4 years and then at the start of last year i herd there was a campaign starting at a local gaming place and have been back into it since! Smile

Started out as a Warhammer player.

We grew tired of the big games and started with Mordheim in 2000 and never played Warhammer Fantasy again.

I was interested in it when it was being playtested in White Dwarf, then it was the first game I'd ever properly played in a campaign setting. I loved the fact my Middenheimers grew in experience and strengh and that it was a more personal game than 40k. I recently got back into wargames after a year and a bit out and some of the first miniatures I rediscovered were my Mordheim Hired Swords...

Been playing 40k on and off my whole life, friend this year mentioned mordheim, it sounded kinda like dnd which i had thought about getting into for the RPG style play, so got some glade guard, and made a shadow warrior warband and we went from there!
