PostSubject: Euro GT in Nottingham (March 15-16th, 2008)   Mon 28 Jan 2008 - 13:33

I figured it's about time some posted this here.

Euro GT event diary entry on the GW website:
http://uk.games-workshop.com/events/diary/default.aspx?event=39

-About Euro GT-

Euro GT is a unique fantasy campaign experience which features
Mordheim, Fantasy Batte, Warmaster, Man O'War & Warmaster Ancients.

This event is not a tournament. GT is an acronym for get together.

Please note that Mordheimers are permitted to use unofficial warbands.
If you have any special requests then please run these by a GT Ops Team.

-Tickets-

Weekend Ticket: £30
Includes a Saturday evening meal, eligibility for prizes at the end
on Sunday and of course a weekend of wargaming, maybe a bit more if
you arrive early and leave late.

One Day Ticket: £20
If you're playing on Saturday then it includes the evening meal, if
playing on Sunday then eligibility for the end of event prizes.

And of course as usual there is an 'early purchase discount'. In this
case its £5, so a weekend ticket will only cost £25, and a one day
ticket £15. This discount only runs until the 31st of January, so if
you can then I suggest that you buy your ticket now.

-GT Accomodation-

If you know what your arrival and departure dates are then I can also
deal with your hotel payments in advance. Friday, Saturday and Sunday
rooms cost £56 a night, whilst week-days are £61 a night. There are
twin rooms available at the same cost as the standard double's, but
they are going on a first come first served basis, with obvious
priority going to anyone bringing their family with them.

Alternatively you can take rooms from the block booking that I have
made with the hotel, if you wish to do this then please contact;

Nottingham Castle Marina Premier Travel Inn
http://www.premierinn.com
Tel number: 08701977199
You need to speak to Linda Harley

Ask to take some of the Euro GT room allocation. This applies for
everyone planning on coming, you will need to transfer some of room
bookings that I have made onto your own credit cards, either that or
get me the money sharpish as I will be releasing the allocation that
I have made probably around mid-February, and then people will just
have to hope that there will still be room in the hotel or look elsewhere.

-Other Accomodation-

Alternatively in Nottingham there are a number of hostels to be found:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=nottingham+hostel&btnG=Search&meta=

The nearest one looks from the Googlemap above is labelled 'A' and that is
Midtown Backpackers Hostel. Beds cost £17 on weekends & £16 on weeknights.
To book in visit here:
http://www.midtownhostel.co.uk

-Payment Options-

I can accept payment via cheque, postal order or money order in £ Sterling.

The address to send payments to is;

The Euro GT, c/o David Simpson
31 Elm Park Road
London
N3 1EG
UK

For the time being any cheques, etc... can be made payable to me
until such time as I manage to open a Euro GT bank account.

I now have a bank account number and sort code that people can transfer
money to so as to pay for their Euro GT Tickets, and if they wish also the
hotel accommodation.

If you wish to pay in this manner then please email me privately so
that we can figure out how much you need to transfer, and then I
shall send you the account details.

One final thing. Please remember that I need payment in £ Sterling,
not Euros or any other currency, as otherwise I'll almost certainly
face transaction charges that would swallow most of the money sent.

Other than that, if anyone has any questions at all then please feel
free to ask either off or on-list.

David Simpson

P.S. Please forward this information onto the Direwolf, Warseer,
Mordheim, MoW and other other forums & mailing lists...

I wonder if anyone here is considering making the trip. I think I will be there and combine it with a visit to London. Anyone?

I don't know.. But remember you'll need to find a way to get there first (flight), find a place to stay, etc. It's pretty pricey alltogether. Quite a trip for a 14-year-old (no offense!! would have been too much for me back then).

That would be awesome!!!!

I was going to book a flight yesterday but it turned out less cheap than expected (thank you, Ryanair!). Most importantly the cheapest hostel I could find in Nottingham was like 22 € a night. I'm afraid with the three nights I have to spend there (Fri-Sat, Sat-Sun, Sun-Mon) this is going to be too much for me. Sad

I'll have to look-into wether I'm working or not, but if I can make-it, there's room for someone to stay over at my place, and we could always share a twin hotel room or something?

I also drive, so can provide transport...

I'll look-into it, and will get back to you all!

PostSubject: LONG TIME NO SEE ...   Thu 7 Feb 2008 - 15:25

Hi Guys,

I have been so very very busy since I started in my new job ...so I havent even had time to think about Mordheim ...let alone play any ...(besides the group I played with got a bit tired of it in the end ...unfortunately).

After seeing this notice I was thinking ...well maybe it might actually be fun to go if some other of you guys are going ... - and if we could group together with some lodging it would definately help keep the cost more acceptable ...

So who else is condering to go ?

Claus

Haha! Look who's back... It's Boehm! Very Happy

Anyways, I was thinking of taking a one day ticket for the 15th or 16th of march.

Please show by "raise of hands" which of you are gonna come (90% certainty at least).

*raises hand*

I couldn't make it either.

Werekin went and posted in the Specialist Games Mordheim forum.

Hopefully I will be able to make it next year.
