| Okay you got me.
Mr Cianty has (mostly) coverted (and Mr Tom painted) a lovely warband here that I don't doubt shall see some serious gameplay, not to mention make a special appearance in the Border Town Burning gallery. Well done boys, you put the rest of us to shame.
I must talk to Mad Bob now about working his photographic mojo around the GW Poole store's battle bunker...
My favourite model in the warband is the Condemned, because from the unpainted version, where the proportion appeared to be very bizarre, to the now painted version... well all I can say is, 'characterful masterpiece'. A fine team effort.
Regarding a previous mention of, 'why do the Northmen walk around in the freezing cold with such a minimal amount of clothing?' - i.e. loincloths, animal skins...
...have you seen the way these guys were made by their mothers!?
We're talking 6'3" if you're a shorty folks. Average heights for Norsemen are going to be something like 6'8", 6'9" or 6'10". 7'+ is going to be more common that you might think, and the gifted are pushing 8'.
There are physiological ramifications of being a man mountain. I used to house-share with a guy twice my size. My friend kept switching the blasted heating off in the winter! While the other roomies & I were wrapped up in 4 layers with our teeth chattering, Conan was strolling around oblivious to the cold in his goddamn vest.
Regards,
Werekin.

| Soooooooooooo whose warbands are coming along to 'guest star' in GW Poole's Border Town Burning preview campaign?
As well as 6-8 weeks @ Tuesday Veterans Nights, we shall be booking in 2x full Sunday's* at the battle bunker for Mordheim campaign games, supplemented with some basic Warhammer Roleplay action...
...and/or will folks be running their own Border Town Burning campaigns when the supplement is rolled out?
*dates to be confirmed - one in July & one in August
Feel free to move this post, if it would be better placed elsewhere on the forum.
Thanks,
Werekin.
p.s. Do we have any Ogre fans on Tom's forum? |

| LOVE THEM OGRES! See, my Avatar raised his hand when you asked for Ogre fans.
Addendum: in addition to Ash's link below, check out blessed knight's Wreckers' Guild Marienburg Pirates. He' got some VERY COOL Ogre mercenaries.

1) Foot's undead ogre Bodyguard
2) another guy shared three ogres that were very well painted (one was drinking from a keg) but I can't find them ;( anyone? _________________ -Ashton Sanders -Mordheim in Montana Blog |

| Just wondered if there is going to be much interest in the the new Maneaters warband from Border Town Burning. If so, we can happily encourage a few Ogre-loving folk on here to be playing games and working on painting/converting Ogre Hero/Henchmen models based on the warband list...
Would it be worth running the official Maneaters preview on here for the supplement?
Is anyone interested in a competition?
Cianty, what do you think?
Regards,
Werekin.

Ashton is referring to blessed knight's awesome minis. See here.

First of all I think that this should not be discussed in this thread. How about you create a new topic for this in the General section? You could also post in the BTB thread I opened here. _________________

| Okay, I moved the topic here because it had little to do with the Gallery.
I personally would consider building an ogre warband for BTB, but there are just so many other projects right now. So maybe one day, yes In any case, I will give the Maneaters rules a thorough read when BTB comes out (can't wait!). _________________

| I finally wandered over to Mordheimer to check out the Ogre War Band. WOW! VERY COOL!
Now this is something I could get into; especially with ALL those Ogres I wound up with in lieu of $s for painting. AND I could either go for an Eastern ala BTB feel or a Mercenary/Pirate style.
One question: what size base is used for the Ogre Runts? |

They've got to be 40mm. I can't imagine them fitting onto a 25mm base. _________________ -Ashton Sanders -Mordheim in Montana Blog |
