Goblin Fanatic, First Time Green Stuff

Here's my finished goblin fanatic, I'm surprised it turned out even somewhat decent...the grainy primer really made it hard to get a clean looking coat of paint down. It was most noticeable on the metal parts until I put several washes over it. There were also a bunch of parts on the model that I simply couldn't figure out what in the world they were supposed to be, but luckily most of them you can't see very well.

I also realize that the top chain link needs a blank spot in the middle, ...

Okay you got me.

Mr Cianty has (mostly) coverted (and Mr Tom painted) a lovely warband here that I don't doubt shall see some serious gameplay, not to mention make a special appearance in the Border Town Burning gallery. Well done boys, you put the rest of us to shame.

Hey guys, I just met a guy who plays Warhammer, and I was trying to describe the differences between Warhammer and Mordheim...but I really don't know much about warhammer.

I think it would be ideal to have an easy and readable way to represent a model's profile in text. Basically it wold work like a BBC code button that allows you to enter the basic stats (m,ws,bs,s,t,w,i,a,ld,sv) of a model and it displays in in a table for much easier reading. This would be helpful for all of us that like to write new rules, or post their beefed up 500 rating warbands!

I have no idea how to do this but is it even possible?

Finally bought the Citadel Chapel, and my original idea was to chop it to bits and use them on homemade Mordheim buildings, but when I saw the piece I just had to put it together! It's so damn good! There also quite alot of extra bits too.

Since I play WItch Hunters, I also figured the chapel would fit as a "base" for my warband. Im planning to decorate it with chopped off heads of heretics and so on.

Any of you had success using the chapel with your homemade buildings? Any ...

Okay, so I just discovered the Witch on the Mordheimer site and I badly want to hire one. Problem is GW's errata doesn't list it as "official". In fact, they even elude that the Witch may be too powerful. I'd appreciate it if you all could weigh in on this issue.

Have you used the Witch? & Did you find the Witch to be balanced?

I've been wargaming for about three years, but only Warhammer 40,000 until now. I got invited to play Mordheim by a friend, and discovered that I like it much better. I've been nosing around this forum for about a week, and really like it.

I'm starting with Orcs and Goblins, and I'm planning to do Tomb Guardians and Wood Elf Wayfarers as well.

Painting yellow over black? Help!

Hello everyone, just another question for you painting experts out there. How do I get yellow to layer smoothly over a black undercoat? I'm using GW paint (sunburst yellow over chaos black) and it seems like no matter what I do the yellow looks mottled and slightly lumpy. I usually thin my paint down with water and build up a few coats, but for some reason I can't get it to look smooth and clean. I even tried using less/more water and that didn't work either.

What do you guys recommend? ...

I'm a regular browser a Matakishi's Tea House www.matakishi.com . He's has some interesting tutorials on making buildings out of cork tiles. I thought [ah, that's the source of that burning smell ] these might be of interest to our little family.

Armory Black Primer?

So, I just picked up a can of an undercoat I'd never used before. I needed a can of black (for my goblin hordes) but the local gaming store was out of the normal GW stuff I usually get. They did however have a can of "Armory Black Primer" available, and it was about 1/2 the cost of the GW stuff. I figured I'd give it a shot, as it was such a good price. If I didn't like it I could still use it for terrain and such, after all.

I got home and grabbed a few fanatics to prime, ...

Im just trying to get the last figures ready for our meetup in Vienna .... (congratulations Spain btw) ... anyway Im contemplating what might be the best approach ...to fully assembly the minuatures AND THEN PAINT? ....or paint the arms + accesories seperately from the miniature AND THEN GLUE them on ? --- The second option seems to offer a lot easier access to paint details etc. but Im a bit concerned if there might be some problems in gluing on paint? ...what do u guys think pro / cons?

Alright, here are some figures I've been practicing on. I'm actually starting up a Orcs n' Goblin army for WHFB as there are a bunch of guys in this area who play. The gaming store is currently having a bunch of sales on GW stuff so I've picked up quite a few units at 20% off.

The goblins are almost done, but I plan to add one more highlight layer to their faces/arms (they currently only have 2). Any advice is welcome, I really want to learn new techniques and try out new things. Don't ...

Warrior monks can be easily converted using the Warhammer Empire Flagellant regiment box. These henchmen have Chaos marauder heads and fighting sticks.

Mystics are the masters of martial arts. This one is made using the Mordheim Elf Mage and green stuff for some Cathayan flavour.

This mystic is wielding a nunchacku. The model required a lot of convertig for the head and the weapon.

Well I have most of it still in plastic and I want to get it painted. As I see it, the best way to do this is to start up a journal so if I stop, I wont just be disappointing myself.

All the measurements are taken from a series of designs that I�m going to use to produce modular building components, that I hope to eventually sell as kits. As such it�s a bit of a test piece.

Thought i'd post a Draft for a Reiklander warband for peoples comments and suggestions.

also a couple of questions if it's ok.

Why is 9 people the ideal number? I've heard its before the next trading level of wyrdstone or something but surely equipping 15 people with 1 weapon means better swam chances than 9 people with decent level of gear?

A sword lets you parry an attack, does a buckler if not with sword let you do the same thing? and if they are combined how does ...

1.) If you have 2 Ithilmar Swords does your initiative increase by 2?

2.) Can any henchmen type form a group or are groups designated?

For example, in the Undead list Ghouls come in groups of 5.
